I may rock the boat here because I am not a fan! the first time I came here was pre refurb and found the staff sullen and the food mediocre at best !
I decided to give it another try post refurb to find it in fairness very busy but again being met by a sullen waiter! when we sat down we were given 2 cobra beers straight away very efficent you would think, except I hadnt ordered them! cobra isnt my fiancees tipple im afraid! we waited a very long time for our starters which in fairness my one was very good but my fiancee wasnt quite impressed when her vegetarian starter was crammed with minced lamb!!! the main courses were okay price was to be honest over what you would expect even in clapham I dont think Id go again as I believe there is a better place just down the road

I've been a fan of the Golden Curry for many years and have always considered the food and service to be far superior to the more popular Maharani nearby. So I was a little nervous when they went 'Indian Trendy' with a massive refurbishment a few months ago. I needn't have worried. The food, if anything, is even better. The new decor is modern and clean, but they still use traditional crisp white tablecloths. The service remains as good as ever. And I'm pleased to see, it's packed nearly every night. Eat your heart out Maharani.
