Pavement Cafe

Went to the Pavement Cafe Bistro on a Friday night. The place was quiet to start but soon filled up. The staff were charming and did a lot to make us comfortable. Water was brought with a wedge of lemon, complementary bread and oil/balsamic, and a refill was offered without prompting. The staff happily offered to keep our wine chilled for us in the fridge, and an ice bucket appeared without requesting it.

Starters: goats cheese flan - lovely, aparagus - perfectly cooked, fish strips, perfect and the smoked salmon was just right.

Mains: duck breast cooked to perfection, as was the tuna steak. Lasgne was fine, and the breast of chicken was nice, if a little dry.

Puddings: Bread and butter pudding was a great success as was my chocolate pudding thing.

All in all a lovely meal with lovely waiting staff who were happy to allow us to relax.

Bill for 4 (mains and starters for all, puddings for 3) came to £90. Well worth it. Will visit again soon

Absolutely love the Pavement. Great food, v reasonable prices, and absolutely brilliant that it is BYO. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening there, and I am looking forward to returning.

London is short of venues that serve good food, consistently, but are unpretentious. The Pavement is one of those exceptions. The evening menu reflects this and is good value.

I love this cafe! The all day breakfasts are always well made and reliable. Staff are efficient and polite, good quality ingredients. Very reliable, can't wait to try the bistro evenings
