Gourmet Burger Kitchen (Bayswater)

Dreadful, both food and service. The burgers were slushy with too much dressing added to flacid and not seemingly fresh salad. One of our burgers were served to a person at another table and we were offered his different choice as an alternative. Over priced, over rated and sadly over here. I would never think of wasting my money in one of these places again. Service, what service.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! EVERYONE WITH US AGREED THAT THEY WERE THE BEST BURGERS WE EVER TRIED!
ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!!!
We had to wait a good 30 minutes for a table but gosh it was worth it and I got to read Vogue while I waited! Lovely tables and atmosphere- fabulous windows, decor and bathrooms!
Best food in London!

OK, the burgers are fantastic. But after about 10 trips to this restaurant, I can no longer tolerate the poor service. We will not be going back again. Our last experience was typical. Halfway through our burgers our chips still had not arrived, so I had to get up and find someone to go and "track them down". The miserable young woman who finally brought them slammed them down on the table and spun away without a hint of an apology. I also have an issue with the process of ordering and paying up front. Great concept, but there is typically one person working the till and they seem to be confused by the entire process. Nothing like starting your meal with a 10 minute queue!
I'm sorry I won't be going back because the burgers really are good. But people in this city must stop rewarding poor service with repeat business. I've never seen a city where restaurant service is so appalling.

I and my family have tried a number of the 'new wave' burger bars and been disappointed at several - poor service, small portions etc.But we have been going to GBK for a few years now - we like the Bayswater branch best - and it is very good indeed.I tend to go for the venison but my wife and son tried their new thai-inspired chicken burger last sunday and were very impressed. The chips are always superb and the people who work there are very pleasant (which must be difficult because they are on their feet all day).
We noticed on our last visit that ice cream has been added to the menu - what for? There isn't space if you've eaten the first course!

Absolutely amazing burgers! Fries are heavenly, and the stilton/mayo combination made these the best burger and fries I've ever had, and I'm american and have had many, many, many (repeat many...) excellent burgers. Don't miss it, and very reasonable for london. great for kids too.

Put simply, if I was on death row and had to order my last meal, this is where I'd tell them to get my food. Awesome burgers, with original delicious sauces and gorgeous crispy fat chips. I challenge anyone to find a better burger around the world! Wine list isn't bad either - nice fruity new world stuff.

Would recommend. Great menu - so many choices! Didn't have to wait too long at all even though it was a Saturday night and place was very busy. Friendly and helpful staff. Meat was FANTASTIC, best burger I've ever had. Fries were fine but nothing special, they have a reasonable choice of lagers and wines, milkshakes and hot/cold drinks. Very good value and well worth a try.

This is a real find: superb burgers at sensible prices. There's a great choice, and if ths chips aren't special the garlic mayo sauce certainly is. You can have a classic burger or venison or chicken satay, and that's just the beginning. The key thing is that the meat is A1.
