Patisserie Valerie

Have been visiting the Pattiserrie Valerie branches for years but in the last two years have found their service poor and not in keeping with the reputation this chain commands. Friends and family have been made to wait more than half an hour for service and last Sat, after waiting for 1/2 an hour myself with guests from out of town, left because the waitress could not be bothered to take our order. She was only concerned with the fact it was half and hour from closing time. This was experienced at most of the branches. Punters should know there are better places to spend their money, no matter how nice their cakes and food are.

If you're a tourist, give it a try, the food is good but the service will definitely disappoint you. I don;t think the staff are that bothered to loose customers as they is always am influx of innocent and hungry ones that come in every single day...specially the one near Harrods.

I have been eating cakes from valerie from a very young, and as long as i can remember i have had birthday cakes from here. All the cakes are absolutely delicious, and i particullary like the mille feuille, i can never pronounce it, so i always just point at it on the menu, or i would ask my brother (fluent in french) to order it for me.. how i wish i paid attention in french lessons now. Their quiches are good too, and i've only ever had a savory dish once, and thought it wasn't too bad, it was slighly overpriced for what it was, and i would generally just stick to their cakes for the future.
Like many have pointed out, their service is not great, but the cakes make up for that, and at times i will just order take away..but then i am in the danger of being greedy and choosing too many to take home with me!

Went for a quick lunch yesterday at the King's Road branch and was really dissapointed. Food was very basic, bland and overpriced for what it was. Our waitress barely spoke a word, instead choosing to point and grunt when a table was free. Staff were busy but having to wait so long for the bill that you seriously consider walking out is not a good sign. Won't be going back. Shame, we didn't even get to try the cakes.

We ate at the Old Compton St one yesterday around 7pm. We had to wait to be seated and then further to be served. There was one girl working the ground floor, but she was great. The food was nice as ever. They need to employ more staff!
We were a party of 6 (2 children, 4 adults)

Unfortunatley what you have been reading in the previous reviews is true and what is worst is that it is true for all the Patisseries Valerie in London. Believe me, i have been to all of them. Rude waiters, poor service and delicious cakes. What do they teach their staff i wonder.

This is the one of the worst restaurants in london, service is really bad, waitters are friendly when you leave tip, they ignore you, unless you are a regular or you look like sameone who's going to leave tip. Tha's a shame because the cakes are really tasty. And they have potencial.

The cakes here are lovely, but the service is poor. The waiters ignore you unless you are a regular or in a large group. I would only come here to buy the cakes on a take-out basis.

Patisserie Valerie is one of my favourite places to go. The staff are friendly and never leave you waiting. Their range of desserts never fail to impress. The chocolate mousse is delicous and I can promise you that you can find no where else in London that sells desserts as good as these. Try it as it is on of the best places to eat in London.

We went to Old Compton Street one. The service is absolutely horrible. We had to wait for a long time to order. Waiters ingored when I tried to order. Then our drink came but had to wait for another half an hour for cake and eventually one of the staff came to us and said the cake we ordered were sold out. I said how unhappy I was but she said "because we are busy" and did not apologise properly. I will never go there again.
