fantastic service from the lovely waitresses and manager, food was delicious, and the bar is a comfortable atmospheric place to sit afterward with a few bottles of wine!

I had the most unpleasant dinner here. We sat at 830pm, managed to order at 9pm, the food arrived at 10:15pm. The food is 'ok', but they are terribly understaffed which they fully accepted. Definitely avoid going, the most confusing experience.

Thursday, March 15, 2012 - Each bite was very smooth as if each cube of beef had been individually tidied when the patty was formed. Its textures were more akin to tartare than grounded beef. I thought the patty's exhibited lovely rounded natural flavours...The smell of grilled beef-fat was simply fantastic. However, I found myself dipping this burger into mayo & ketchup after a couple of bites. Counterintuitively, it felt like all this rich beefiness required more seasoning to really bring them out. You know, it's a little bit like a great steak eaten without salt and pepper.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 - This was a kind of burger that no matter how hard I tried to nit-pick with every single bite, I failed. Everything about it was correct, precise and most importantly, delicious. The chap who conceived it must be a consummate master of burgers...The meal at The Admiral Codrington was by no means cheap, but both the execution and cooking of everything we ate that evening were consistently good enough to garner a must-visit endorsement. Let's just hope you enjoy the home of London's ace burger as much as I did.

Cheese and Biscuits

Cheese and Biscuits - 8/10

Wednesday, October 26, 2011 - Chilli salt squid showed at least that they know how to deal with seafood too - these were fried crunchy golden brown and really rather good. Pork scratchings were only slightly less than perfect because the scratchings themselves were cold and the apple sauce was warm - I'd have preferred it the other way round...The Admiral Codrington burgers are a real find, and even in this 'gourmet' price category represent pretty good value for money when you consider the quality of the meat and the fact they come with lovely crispy chips.
