This place was abismal. The waiter didn't understand that the lady should order first, then kept interupting as we ordered. The food arrived within three minutes of ordering ("ding cuisine") and was only medeocre at best and they tried to clear it away while we were still eating.

When asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu the waitress was met with an instant and unanimous "No!"

Then it took 20 minutes to attract the waiter's attention for the bill, even though the restaurant was only half full. Needless to say they had already added the service charge.

Don't go: it's rubbish!

I went to La Ballerina as I was just passing it while wondering around. I was seated right away and the sevice was very good. The atmosphere was also good as from the windoe you could see the statue of the ballerina. I had lingue vangole which was lovely. we didn't have to wait for the bill either. Definatly worth a visit.

Personally I like La Ballerina and find the food reasonable, the wine drinkable, the service a good balance of freindly without being overwhelming. The venue is spectacular and I eat there regularly whilst in London for theatre trips.

As an older person, I like being in a non-trendy atmosphere and able to concentrate on friendly chat whilst enjoying the food.

I really wish I had read the reviews of this place before heading there the week before last. Unfortunately we were caught hungry right in the pre-theatre rush and our preferred choice was, unsurprisingly, full. We were sandwiched between two larger parties and whilst the service was speedy, it was a little sullen. The food was, at best average, not inedible, but of a lower standard to say one of the mass-market places on the same street such as Zizzi. Having said this, the wine was okay and the bill didn't break the bank, so I guess you get what you pay for. In my opinion, well worth missing, even if you are starving.
