Truly a dreadful place. We had booked a table for 4 - and when we arrived they had "forgotten" the booking, and said we could be seated "in 5 minutes". 35 minutes later we were still waiting. The food then took 45 minutes to arrive, and finally the card machine for PIN validation was lost, then failed to work. As a result we were late for our theatre show.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend on a saturday evening. It looked typical. We just ordered fusilli al tonno and cotoletta alla milanese. The service were quite good, the waiter polite. Yet our dishes were not so tasties, the "cotoletta alla milanese" looks like a kind of blend of unknown meat so thin that they could have given me the plate under a door.

Then, here are the boss and his wife:

I have never seen people so rough and rude !

Of course, it is espensive...

Went into this flea pit with a friend for a fast pasta before theatre. We did have speedy service, I ordered salmon fusili and tuna turned up, my friend caneloni which was indescribable. When questioned we were told it was not minced beef as we had imagined but veal - yip VEAL (little baby cows who have never seen the light of day). As a meat eater I am completely shocked that we were served up veal without being warned. Surely, surely, surely there is a requirement a notation be made on the menu to say what the dish was, as I am certain Im not the only meat eater on the planet who wouldnt touch veal. That aside when we complained we were "shown the door" but not allowed to leave until our bill was paid. An utter disgrace. We paid £14.90 for 2 glasses of wine - which we didnt drink and an untouched fusili. Having worked in the service industry all my working life I have never experienced such appaling treatment.

Do not waste your time or money by visiting.

Agree with the review below wholeheartedly. Stopped in here one evening by accident as fancied something to eat and I have to say this place is everything that is bad about London's tourist industry. This place caters for unsuspecting visitors to the capital and, quite frankly, should be shut down. Awful food in every respect, filthy dirty, appalling service and, as a result we refused to pay a penny and left. I had the suspicion this was not an uncommon occurrence. Truly, truly an utter disgrace.

I was taken to Ristorante Aurora on a first date. Luckily, it didn't put me off my now boyfriend! However, it is one of the worst restaurants I have experienced in this country.

When I first walked into Aurora I put my first impressions down to authenticity, but after closer inspection it turned out that it is in fact down right dirty! I'm sure a health and safety inspector would have a field day!

Then there was the food... sounded absolutely gorgeous on the (not so clean) menu but turned out to be the most tasteless and bland meal known to man.

Despite its downfalls I was impressed by the wine. So if you are blind and just going for a drink I guess I would recommend it.

I could probably fill two sides of A4 about my distaste for Aurora but I do in fact have to work. Just don't go!
