I took my wife to the world food cafe on 2/10/08.

Well what a refreshing change I had turkish and my wife had mexican,It was tasty filling and not a rip off price.Seeing your food being prepared is totally perfect for the veggies and vegans among us to know you are not eating food that has been prepared on chopping boards that have just been used for meat.

Perfect, we will be visiting again unless you open one in Colchester.

i love the food here, it is overpriced but i'm happy to pay the prices as the food tastes great and i love the location, i'm vegan so it's great to have a place like this where i know i can eat without problems in a very relaxed atmosphere, the menu is good and there is a good selection of cakes, i have been here many times and never had a problem.

When you break down the simple main ingredients of what you are actually getting served on a plate then yes, the food is overpriced. But where else in the center of town can you find a quaint, hearty, vegetarian stop where the food is fresh, well cooked, well presented and so very tasty. The menu is ecclectic and interesting and although it hardly changes the specials will keep the locals with some variety. The desserts are great and almost a work of art and if I am ever in a pickle of where to go for lunch then this is a sure thing. Fill your belly with goodness and don't think of the actual cost/ selling price comparison as the overall experience is generally worth it.

A great little find for quality vegetarian food. The location in Neals Yard is wonderful, and if possible get a seat next to the window to enjoy the view. Their menu offered a great selection and when the food arrived it was plentiful & tasted great. The prices are reasonable, though not particularly cheap. All in all a great dining experience, though it is a shame it is not open in the evening.

WAY, WAY over priced for what is on the plate - much better to cook this food based on the owners' cook book

Staff member refused to give my wife a fork so she could sample what I had ordered

I have eaten in many lunchtime places that have a healthy-eating/vegetarian focus and this is my current favourite. The location in Neal's Yard is perfect. The main room is light and airy. The option of diner-style counter-eating is good for loners. And the food is varied and well-prepared. Today I had the soup-of-the-day (carrot & split pea); an oat pancake with cheese and salad; and some chocolate cake. These were all tasty and went down well. The dessert was especially well presented with whipped cream and exotic fruit garnish.
