Edera

Local restaurant on Holland Park Avenue.
Food is reasonable, service ok (not great) and atmosphere not very romantic or cosy. Price the usual for West London (3 courses, wine, water about £100).
Good for couples but not for families with children.

My wife and I dined at Edera this evening on a recommendation from the Hyatt hotel. We enjoyed our meal. The service was actually very good, contrary to prior reviews. No sign of anyone who even remotely intimidated or rushed us.

I had one of the top 5 meals ever at this restaurant last night. The tagiolini with truffles is mindblowing. killer of an eatery.

After reading some of the last reviews I was a little nervous, but really shouldn't have worried.....good food, friendly atmosphere & pleasant staff.

Just round the corner from me, so it's useful, but there is never any customers in there, and therefore no atmosphere! Not bad though and friendly staff

i m an italian customer and basicly i don't agree with the previous review i read...i went there some days ago and the service was the unique thing i liked...i mean waiter and waitress there are very pleasent...the worst thing at edera is the man who does the bill, probably the owner...he behaves as he if was the world's owner, looking at you all the time...always so serious...i felt the atmosphere was horrible. he is the typical reason why foreign people have bad opinion about italian one...
the price was ok but i would not advice anyone to go there if entering you see that boy over there, looking at you as if you are going to destroy his day just because you are going to give him money...

We were there last weekend with a group of 15 people for lunch, but I have to say I do not share some people's enthusiasm for the service. While the food was OK (some said it was excellent, others said their food was already half cold when it was served), the service was lousy to say the least. Although there we hardly any other guests, it took them ages to take the order and then serve the food. It is not a lack of personnel, but I think they are grossly incompetent. Most embarrassing was, however, that at the end they presented us with a total bill with no details, claiming that the bill was so long (and expensive!) that the computer could not print the details. This is a disgrace, particularly when you spend a few hundred pounds! It took them about 1 hour (!!!) to separate the bill into single items so that we could at least figure out who had to pay what. And then they had the guts to add 12.5% optional service charge for an absolute lousy service!
I would certainly not be able to recommend them to anyone who cares about a halfway decent service. The prices relative to what you get is just not right there!

It was suppose to be Sardinian food and was absolutely vile and awful, I had this risotto al taleggio as starter and it was inedible and I had to resort to a salad: 5 slices of tomato, 4 mozzarella and 1 leaf of Basil. After, the squid was rather ordinary with a mountain of what seemed to be microwave spinash, no flavour. They had a "congestion" in the kitchen -what ever that means- which delayed the food for more that 40 minutes and they offered us a plate with 2 bread sticks and few bits of pizza. Just not good enough! The only enjoyable thing was the wine "mais ca coutait la peaux des fesses" . And the service was good. And yes it was a rip-off, 2 people at 134 libres. Definitely not a recommendation

Excellent Italian food (and I am Italian...). The service was discreet and attentive, the atmosphere a right blend of intimacy and relaxedness. A good evening out.
