Have been visiting the Surma for 15 years. Their Dansak is the best ever. Mr Ali treats everyone like family. Really don't bother going anywhere else if in South London and feeling like a curry!

Since moving to London I have been trying all the Italian restaurants south of the river. Unfortunately with this particular establishment the choice of food has been sadly lacking. The pasta seems to resemble pudding rice and the pizza seems to contain coconut and nuts and not a glimpse of cheese to be seen. I have never before had the misfortune of drinking wine from the Kingfisher vineyards either but I will certainly not be choosing that vintage again.
Disappointed

My girlfriend and I have been systematically trying all the indian restaurants in East Dulwich. We both agree, there is no contest, the food is best at Surma. The service can be a bit hit and miss, with occasional grumpiness, and the cutlery and plates look a bit cheap, but the food is fantastic. The meat is consistently succulent, the sauces creamy (when appropriate) and full of flavour. The naans are superb fresh.
