I almost never write reviews, but I have to say in my 3 visits, I've consistently found a variety of selections consistent and very authentic Italian.

There is just one Italian restaurant that is worse than Pappardella...the one just next door :)

Food is bad, service as bad as food, but at least they show Italian football which is the only reason why I go.

i have been here a few times now and I would challenge anyone to find a better penne arrabiata, the sauce is just right and the pasta is always al dente. The service is friendly and efficient, all Italians. A real treat and one that is value for money!

A huge disappointment: as an Italian in London, I always thought of La Pappardella as one of the very few places where I could have n authentic and delicious pizza. I used to go quite regularly when living in the area. I went back last week and ate the most awful pizza I ever had in London. The base was very clearly a frozen base, not even fresh, as you could see the mould split line running all across the crust and the shape was a perfectly round disc, like no real hand-made pizza can ever be. The flavour was of cardboard and we left feeling really sad that one of the few outposts of real Italian cuisine in London had gone down this way. I believe they must have changed management, as I didn't see the usual people, but they must have clearly got rid of the very good "pizzaiolo" they had.

The service was good and the atmosphere is always cosy and welcoming, but the food was just dreadful.

What a shame...
