i celebrated my 23rd birthday at the end of january 2011 at the little french restaurant with a group of friends and the experience was excellent. the food was brilliant, very french and bistro kind. the service was also top noch. the overall atmosphere was fantastic, i couldnt find a complaint. our night was topped by the cheap prices of the food which was definatelly worth the money.

I agree with below...does not to me seem very French and not the French ambience. plum tart didnt seem to appear and the quiche - how small is small? surprised that the tariff was presented before the meal was finished. but?

maybe I come again and they try more no? I shall speak to the boss in charge and say I come in peace and want to try to make his cafe better.

I am yet to find anything French about it. being a foreigner myself, no one can accuse me of not being P.C, but it always makes me smile when a restaurant pretends to be something and does not achieve it..a name is not enough, it is insulting people's intelligence.

The price is obviously the attraction, until the bill arrives and all the extras on it,the food is average, but than, for that price, understandable, what is not fair is the speed they apply to get you out, again,a big turnover of tables is necessary to keep this joint open, cause nothing else justifies it.

I am always suspicious of restaurant with great reviews,in this case i was right,i went,i was not conquered, and wont go again. One learns from his mistakes, cheap rarely equals to good!!

I can only disagree with the comments below. the food is not Polish, my sisters boyfriend is from Poland and he says more Turkish or middle eastern. Certainly not French in my book, and certainly not that wonderful either. Yes, they do seem to hurry you and keep asking if you are alright and hovering around like flies which can be very offputting. Please dont listen to other peoples conversation even if they are customers, its not polite!

Food was OK, but not worth the price in my opinion. maybe if they did more authentic french food. Wheres the frogs legs and snails?

dont really want to go again.

Went there twice. First time for dinner with dessert and wine and everything, My beef was fine, not excellent, just decent. I would have really enjoyed it, if I were allowed to actually have a conversation with my friend. Unfortunately it was 50-50 with my friend and with the waitress who had to come at least twice during each dish to ask and prod and get on our nerves. It was irritating but since I live in the area, I wanted to give it another go and went there again with another friend. This time we arrived too early for dinner time, so we went elsewhere, but we still wanted to come there for a dessert and some wine. The waitress/owner looked like she swallowed a lemon at the idea, but in the end said that we could sit upstairs until 9:30 (it was 7:30). We regretted that because once again during dessert someone would trudge upstairs to ask if we are okay, at each gulp of dessert and sip of wine we took. Then without asking, at 8 oclock a waitress came to present us with the bill. I like the venue and the food is okay, but I would definitely not go there again as I want to avoid gastric ulcers.

Is this French or Polish? food suspiciously Polish/Czech/eastern European more than French and I should know, I have been to Poland and my tastebuds said .."Greznasdoko"..will try again though.

Been here twice and although the suspiciously excellent reviews on here say how good this restaurant is (mates rates?), to be fair its a bit overpriced for what it esteams to be. We didnot want the 3 course dinner as all the 'extras; do bump the price at - and thats why there were some raised eye brows from some of the customers when they got the bill.

Food.. not too bad but some of the main dishes parts were a bit cold. the prawn cocktail didnt have that many prawns and even in the 1970s they used fresh cream! did have to ask a few times what had happened to our food..thats probably understandable with the owners mother? or grandmother serving, but no excuse for the younger ones.

atmosphere - actually we were rather cold and we werent by the doorway. Manager apparently is getting round to it..(how long have they been open?!). a bit dark too.. had to hold menus up to the light to see the ingredients.

in general..OK but we might give this place a miss in future. Just down the road is a terrific german beer cellar that caters for large parties easily.

I stumbled upon this restaurant with a friend whilst on a business trip. We did walk past several times, weighing up whether this was going to be a 'little gem' or a tourist trap. Eventually we decided to go for it and was not disappointed. Right from the the start we we're looked after and entertained by the maître d (curly haired, presumably French lady) who's approach towards us was spot on. The food was very reasonable and tasted good for the price. We left with happy hearts and full bellies which can't be bad. If you're looking for urban chic then this place isn't for you, but if it's honest food and a sense of fun I highly recommend this restaurant.

From the first time I walked into this restaurant, on the 25th of July, 2008, I turned it into my regular dining place ... Since then, there have been countless times that I've come to enjoy this magnificent restaurat. Its charming atmosphere ... it's excellent service ... delicious dishes and very affordables.

I wouldn't ask more from them. Congrats and thanks for the good times...
