For what it purports to be - which is a cheerful, busy, relatively inexpensive, bistro-style, French restaurant - it is very good. Do not expect great cuisine or comfort but there is plenty of charm. There is a prix fixe of £9.95 for 3 courses (salads and side orders additional) which is very good value. The wine list is modest but commensurately not expensive. We found the service to be good. Credit cards are not accepted. I shall go back.

I had to write after reading this review as a couple of weeks ago me and my mum had a very poor meal in this overbearing restaurant. On the way in she had to wash her hands as the handrail seemed covered in the sort of glue you get on flypapers. is that to trap the customers? The waiter was very abrupt and almost mocking and short with her as mum didnt know what a lot of the dishes were. Wish we hadnt stayed as the food was both lukewarm and not very nice to eat either. How do you make a salad slimy?

Not coming here again and mum said they were rude.

After almost three years 'on the road' in Europe and Russia, living in Jack Kerouac style ,I finally had really nice and inexpensive meal at The Little French Restaurant and could not believe the prices.

No wonder they were full on Monday!

I am currently working on contract in Russia for Canadian company, and I regularly come to London once every six weeks.I have eaten in many places but this has to be by far the best find in terms of taste and value for money. Food of this quality is not available in Russia, but the prices there are astronomical and higher than in London.

This is definitely not the place for people who think that if the food is cheap the place is not good enough for them.On the contrary this place is brilliant, staff are friendly, food is excellent and atmosphere is warm and relaxing.

I will definitely be back.

PS.

I am glad that I came across some of the comments here after I visited the restaurant,as in my eyes they are very unfair and totally unjustified.

I took few of my friends to The Little French Restaurant in Earls Court. It is a small intimate place with delicious food and very good service. Place was extremly busy so I reccomend to book table in advance. All my friends were very happy with food, service and particularly with value for money. We will definitely be back. 3 course meal for £9.95 in London is unbelievable!!!!!!

I live in Dublin but worked in Earl's Court from June to August [2008]. I dined out on most evenings and tried a variety of restaurants at least once. However, I went back to The Little French Restaurant time and time again.

This restaurant has great food, a cosy intimate atmosphere and genuinely very friendly staff. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Earl's Court. I was initially impressed by the special offer of £9.95 for a three-course meal but returned for the cosy intimate atmosphere and fine cuisine that no other restaurant in Earl's Court can boast.

Very grubby interior and me and my boyfriend were very unsure of this very dimly lit place. I didnt like it at all. Food tasted only way I can describe as odd. slightly musty. there is a very nasty atitude of the waiters here as though we are in the way. Sorry but I came for a meal not to be served by people who think life gives them a raw deal. If Al and his son had a good time its only cause he probably knows them.

Its true what B Smith says.. the hand rail is like touching treacle! Wear gloves!

That was the most amusing aspect of the whole evening. The Yummymummy clan went for a (what we hoped would be ) an uneventful meal in the slightly pretentious place. The waiters were very snotty and not at all as helpful as 'Al' says. (perhaps he has inside information??). We were quite put out at their 'deafness' at asking for cutlery and my husband had to actually go to the counter to ask for knives and forks. That seemed to increase the surlyness and the pseudo-Parisienne disdain - which might be great on the Left Bank but in Earls Court? do me a favour!!

The coffees were quite watery and the meals not exactly gourmet standard. Wouldn't go again, not even for another grab of the sticky handrail! (what's all that about?!)

I have taken my eleven year old son to The Little French Restaurant, and he loved it so much he insisted that we no longer need to look for a restaurant when he comes to London to visit me (he is living with his mother in Bath). I have been coming to this place for years, and can never get tired of it, and I was really happy that he liked it too.He loved all the staff , who showed so much care and understanding, (and patience-it must be added) for his endless questions, and went out of their way not to show to my son how busy they were. He got to know them all by names and told Alicia that he was in Paris last year, and Sara that he must go to Italy when he finish his education. He asked Vladimir if he was from Russia, but when he told him that he was from Slovenia my son was embarrassed a little bit,as he never heard of it.Nevertheless he was really happy about everything, and if they can make my son happy they can easily make anyone happy. This place is truly brilliant, inexpensive, and irreplaceable source for saving money without compromising on quality.

Thanks for everything, guys!!!You are the best

We have just returned from our second night at the little French restaurant. Last night was not only brilliant from the food and service aspect but we were given a free liqueur as a compensation for mussels not being available as a starter. So you can only imagine our disappointment after our experience this evening. We asked yesterday for our wine to be put on ice at 7pm. Having booked our table for 7.45pm. Our wine was not on ice nor was it even in the fridge when we arrived!!!! When my husband asked why this was the case, not only did he ignore the question (he was writing something on his notepad at the same time.) Subsequently he ignored us for the rest of the evening. The waitress was equally blasé and unhelpful. The only reason we stayed was we had just finished working a twelve hour shift and were in no mood to search for another place to eat. After an initial good impression. This is really a bad place to eat the service is inconsistent and the food is mediocre. By the way if you go to the toilet avoid the hand rail on the staircase it is sticky!!!?
