Just got back from this place. My girlfriend and I cancelled our night out after this meal it was that bad. Let me give you a description of what happened.
1: Dips for popperdoms already on the table, with the onions looking very dry,all dips with plastic spoons!.
2: Paper napkins
3: The menu's look very old and are in a very used and run down condition.
(at this point my girlfriend is ready to up and go,not liking the 'feel' of the place, however i like to fully 'try' the place and give them a chance to redeem themselves on the food,so convince her to stay)
4: Onion bhaji's and veggie samosa were poor but ediable.
5: The chicken balti was the best of the two mains we had,the other being chicken dupiaza(both completly tasteless), both swimming in oil.
6: the waiter clearing our table didnt even ask if everything was ok,dispite seeing so much food left. (thankfully my girlfriend likes to make a point about something if it isn't right and told them it was the worst meal she'd ever had, and then another waiter offered to discount our bill)
We wont be going again.

if you feel like having a crap meal while sitting on the train this is the place for you.
we got the buffet for £6.50 which allowed us to burn our fingers on the steam tray lids and help ourself to very dry chicken. The decor resembles a tube carriage and the service was very poor. We were the only people in there and it felt like we were a burden and they didn't want us there, the staff had no smile on their faces, i cannot believe how can they maintain this business with this standard, very sad.

Noreen, you're unbelievable! What kind of language is that? Despicable.
For those of us with a brain larger than the size of a pea, the Ahmed is a wonderful restaurant. The food is always excellent, the service fabulous. It's not the most glamorous of locations but it doesn't spoil the dining experience. I've been visiting for 6 years and very rarely do I venture away. For the prices, this is the best 'curry house' in Wimbledon.

This is our regular indian and I have been going there all my life (I am told I was a visiter even in my carry cot!) and my parents went there some 10 years before. Amounting to 30 years great service. The food is lovely and staff so wonderfully friendly and charming. On every visit of mine they have been wearing normal clothing (ie. suits). The food is in no way risky or fancy but if you want a good simple indian meal (at a VERY resonable price) this should be your stop! The non-vegetarian thali is a particular favourite of mine, and will satisfy a large appetite.
