I used to enjoy this place but it has significantly gone downhill. I went in March 2011 and was thoroughly disappointed. The "cheese" fries (if you can call that cheese) were absolutely horrible. The service was also mediocre. Went back in April 2011 for a birthday and it was just as bad. Out of 10 diners, not one of us was actually satisfied with our meal. The service was very slow (took 20+ minutes just to get 3 simple drinks, even though the place wasn't busy). The food is now very mediocre. There are cheaper options elsewhere for the same quality of food. It's a shame that this place has sunk so low as this used to be quite a good place for good American food, but I definitely won't be going back (nor will the birthday boy whose idea it was to go there).

Upon first visiting Eagle Diner the exterior feels more upscale bar than American-style diner, and as I (well we) expected the theme continued as we entered. As we were seated by the maitre d, it felt as though we were waiting in terminal 5 at Heathrow as opposed to a restaurant. I kinda don't think there's anything necessarily bad to say about the place, but the whole concept is just kinda odd and it doesn't really fit with the ideal of a classic diner. My friend and I ordered the strawberry shake (disgusting), pancakes (pretty darn good but like only 3...hello my name is Kirstie Alley more please) and turkey club sandwich (a piece of meat with toast with a cocktail stick pierced though it (Harper's Bazaar if you ask me). Anyway the food is pretty good but $40 for appetizers makes me think ummm taking the mick much? Yah don't go here, Ed's or TGI's is waaay better. Peace out :)
