Zizzi's Banstead. I called up Zizzi's in Banstead to book a table for 4 adults and 4 children for Sat 23/02/08 at 6.30 pm. The staff who attended the phone was down right rude and abrupt. He straight away said there is £5 deposit charge perhead.

Then I spoke to the Manager and she said she will do me a FAVOUR by not charging the deposit. I said to her FAVOUR? what FAVOUR? you are not doing me a favour. I was going to come there and pay for my meal. Then she carried on by saying that it was their policy to charge for a party of 8 or more with an advance deposit!!

If that is the case, her had her staff could have explaiend to me first ,rather then straight away asking for the deposit money. She carried on saying their policy has worked without any problems for past four years.

I was appauled by the customer care I received and by the attitude of the staff. I have been to many many resturants world wide but never seen such rude staff or heard of customer off putting policy. The staff could implement policy in a rather politeful manner with making sure that customers are happy and they visit the resturant again and again. Instead, I gave up on idea of never visiting Zizzis resturant again in my life!!

Although, in the end I did not go to Zizzi's, I have taken time to write this review to warn people from such money grabbing, people humilating businesses.

we went to zizzi - we had to wait a little but the food was good especially the chocolate cheesecake. Would go there again.

we aet at the strand zizzi the staff were downright rude we waited 35 minets for our main course and when we ask our long would it eb we were told that there were 150 customers so we would have to wait

I have eaten at the Cardinal Place branch in Victoria. Service was attentive and the food very good. The price is competitive to my mind. The decor is modern and very light and airy. They do pack you in a bit though. I shall be back.

Ate twice at the Cardinal Place branch for dinner and lunch. Truly awful service both times. I had to ask 7 times for a jug of water that never came. Four times for the bill. At lunch they couldn't understand my American friend and neither him them.

Food was average at best, and overpriced at worse.

Luckily there are many better places in Cardinal Place. One to avoid!

In life you get what you pay for. I certainly think that Zizzi is good for value and the food is very good and yes you do have to wait a little bit but the atmosphere is real good.

I went to the one on the Strand with some friends - had the same problem as the others with non-existent staff. Friendly enough when taking our orders, but we had to ask twice for our drinks. Food: one of us had pasta, and the ratio of pasta to topping was pretty disproportinate, the other had the ravioli; there were about 5 pieces of ravioli and I had the pizza; again, the ratio of topping to base wasn't very good. Desserts were the best part; but then it's pretty hard to go too wrong with dessert. It was impossible to find anyone to pay and this was on a Monday and there weren't many people in the restaurant.

Food was fine when it arrived - but had to ask three times for some bread and olives we ordered. However, service was non-existent. Couldn't find anyone when we wanted to pay the bill. The staff just seemed to disappear! Had to walk around the restaurant until we found someone.Didn't leave a tip! Go here if you can't find anywhere else to go on Charlotte Street. You'll eat well enough but I wouldn't go here on a spcial night out unless you want to leave feeling full but a bit disgruntled!

I'm going to talk about the service in this review. Something has gone badly wrong at this restaurant.

For a start, I would appreciate it if the staff could wear something other than jeans when on duty. I had trouble identifying them among the customers.

Secondly, it would be nice if some of them could be around when you needed them - like when paying the bill. Here I kid you not. I actually had to phone them from my table to ask them for the bill!

I spoke with the manageress prior to leaving. She was surprised that I'd made this phone call, but not fazed in any way. I know if I were in her position, I'd be surely embarrassed. She did not offer to put things right, although she had ample opportunity.

Not sure why I left a tip.

I have been Zizi on Strand. The food, the service and everything was wonderful. I had good thoughts about Zizi until I took my parents to Zizi on Wigmore street last week. the pizza that I ordered was not the same pizza i ordered on Strand. there was absolutely nothing on the top of it. no toppings at all. in addition it was very dried. I told the waitress my disappoinment about it. I did not get any respond. He talked to a manager looking person, but he did not even bother to do anything. I do not recommend anyone to make a mistake going to Zizi.
