Barbarella

I held my wedding reception at this venue although I live a fair way off in Camden. All my guests were suprised at the truly great atmosphere of the place. The food was excellent as were the staff, we all had a great time eating, drinking and dancing the night away. I've heard the club has changed hands quite recently and hope it will keep the same format, there really is a shortage of this type of venue.

I've been to Barbarella a few times now. It keeps getting better. The food and wine in my last visit a week ago was excellent and great value. It was a perfect spot for my friends and I to go as we had a great meal, good wine and then we stayed on to dance into the night. Super time.

Do not go to this awful place, we had the misfortune of going there last night to have supper with friends, it was freezing cold, the 'restaurant' if you can call it that, was empty (we were the only people there!) and totally devoid of any atmosphere. The person who took our orders, who I presume was the manager as he was in a suit, couldn't even be bothered to look at you when asking you for your food. I ordered a prawn cocktail which consisted of 6 tiny tasteless defrosted (only just!) prawns and some chopped lettuce, my steak was stone cold and again tasteless with about 8 'homemade' chips that were over cooked and cold. I then stupidly ordered some cheese which had come straight from the fridge and was so cold it was...yes, you've guessed it, totally tasteless! There were the usual 2 laughable and bored looking 'bouncers' at the door on arrival which struck me as odd considering the place was virtually empty from 8pm -11.30pm when we left. This place is another very good example of a venue opened by someone who probably has nothing worthwhile to do but fancies the idea of being a 'club/restaurant owner', has too much family money to spend on ventures like this and absolutely no idea what he's doing... Please go and do something else...

I have lived in Fulham all my life and had never been to Barbarella's.

I had passed by it so many times over the years, and always wished I could go inside and see what it was like. But I thought it would be too expensive, or too 'elite'!!

I had the idea that it would be very 1970's in style, and hoped it would be like something out of Jackie Collins' The Bitch or The Stud...and be full of celebs!.

So...in February 2011, I was given the opportunity to dine there for my God daughters 21st birthday.

This venue did not disappoint! It was everything I thought it would be (apart from the celebs) and I was thrilled to be there.

The Maitre D' was very attentive, humorous and efficient. The meal was great, as was the atmosphere. And after dinner, late into the evening...the piéce de resistance....a DISCO...playing '70's music. It was fantastic,

The best night out I had had in YEARS.

I really hope that, with the refurb, they won't go far away from the retro theme - but will try to make the new Barbarella's, a tribute to the old.

Dinner/ dance venues are VERY few and far between, and this one was a blast!

Food and service are very good :) one word to describe barbarella's restaurant: BELISSIMO!!!
