Akash Tandoori (Northcote Road)

This is my favourite Indian without a doubt. The food is always excellent and the portions are large, so much so that my partner and I normally share a main course. Whilst it is not the cheapest curry in Clapham/Battersea the quality of the meat and other dishes is second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend it and look forward to my next visit.

Pretty average food. Drinks VERY expensive. £3.95 for a pint of draught Kingfisher is a little excessive. Went there last Friday evening, had 2 prawn curries (not king prawn), 2 rices, 2 vegetable side dishes, 4 popadums and 4 pints. Bill came to £46-90. I don't mind paying for a good meal but this was really just average. Won't be going there again.

Cheap and cheerful. Refurbished to a decent standard, staff are very friendly and the service is pretty decent. The massive portions don't really make up for the lack of quality of the food though. It's not a particularly bad restaurant, but it can't compete with what else is on offer locally - Indian and other. With so many decent eateries around the Northcote Road, Akash doesn't really give you a reason to return...although it is extremely cheap!

“Very recently refurbished to uphold it classy atmosphere, Akash was a delight to visit and dine. The taste of Tandoori grill is that of the shops name, from the skies above, as it was exquisite and of high quality which is rare to find. 10/10 service and food remains for me the best Indian and Bengali cuisine in London!”

Simple spicy heaven. Well worth a visit, where else can you discuss football with the staff, have a cold beer and tuck into properly cooked daal. Genuinely a top curry house if you rate: Tandoori Lane (Fulham) or Muhib (Brick Lane) then this is the one for you in Clapham. Enjoy
