A tiny hide-away which I'm in two minds whether to keep a secret or not. However, having seen that other visitors rate it so highly, I must add my praise. Original dishes set it far apart from the curry house norm. The Chicken Kuku with tomato and cucmber stands out. The Indian Fried will remind you of holidays in Southern Spain as a mild dish of fresh prawns and rice. Lovers of hot curries will crave the Korai Bhujon. Vegetables are slightly more mundane but still well above average. One wish - could they offer more than just a plain nan bread? Please! It's already a great curry house. Visitors who value food ahead of looks should hurry here.

This restaurant is quite good when it comes to friendliness and creating a positive atmosphere with the ambience of elegant service.
The only bad thing I can say about the restaurant is the size of the restaurant, as I am quite a big person I struggled to get into my seat, but other than that food delicious, service average and value for money was not to expensive nor to cheap.

I used this restaurant once a week for 15 years. I have not found a better place for top quality curry anywhere. If you live closeby delivery is also excellent.
I moved from London 7years ago and have not been able to replace the akash.
The one small thing i will say is akash do not do great nan bread much better to go for a paratha.....
CURRY LOVERS HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!

this is the best indian ever! my boyfriend and i try to make a trip at least once a week to see the friendly manager and staff of Akash. I ask my boyfriend everytime to pick a place for dinner and he never chooses anywhere but Akash.
I am loathed the recommend it too much incase we can no longer turn up unannounced for a delightful evening!
i urge anyone to make a trip

This is by far the best restaurant I have found, in London, Nottingham, or even Leicester, in 40 years of enjoying food from the Indian subcontinent. I discovered it about 25 years ago and have never looked back. The manager and staff are friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. The food is fresh, colourful, and complex in its taste.
It is difficult to find, tucked away behind a fire escape, but well worth the perseverence.
Prices are so reasonable as to be ridiculous.
The room is small and cosy (only 27 covers, so book if yoy are coming a distance). There are discrete cubicles as well as an open area for larger groups.
Try it.

This is a hidden gem. I walked past this loads of times thinking it looked a little shabby but I am so glad i decided to try it!
The service was great and the food even better. I could not believe how cheap it was for a london restaurant either.
Very much a cut above your usual indian restaurant.

This was by far the best Indian restaurant I ever tried. Having lived in Asia for many years and a frequent traveler on a global scale... I have never had a Vindaloo lamb curry like at Akash. Try their vegetable rice...you´ll love it ...Service is great, staff is very friendly .... Highly highly recommended!!!!

This was a nice and cosy restaurant - a bit shabby from the outside and if i hadn't have been recommended it I probably would have walked straight past. Fortunately, we went in and the food was fantastic. They take great pride in their food and query whether its to your liking. We went with some indian friends and they were quite impressed with just how good the food was.
All up with loads of food and drinks for 4 people it came to 60 quid. Fantastic!
