Joe's Brasserie

Perfectly OK place, but it's hard to muster anything more than very lukewarn praise for Joe's Brasserie. The menu has the predictable mix of modern london pub food - burger, green curry, salmon, steak - you know the score, and the wine list is good value. The decor is nice in a bland kind of way (a bit like the food) and the service is slow but friendly. There are many worse places to go, and it's a decent place for a party given the cheap wine, but it's all a bit too predictable to warrant a resounding recommendation.

Lemon sole was so well cooked, I had no need for my knife. Reasonably priced fare as well.
Those that know recommend the wine list.

New to the area and in need of sustinence we popped round the corner to Joe's Brassiere. Friendly atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was simple but delicious bistro fayre, made with dresh ingredients - light and fluffy fish cakes and great organic lamb. House wine fresh and light. All round very good. In fact we went back the next morning to sample the breakfast menu which begins at 11.00pm - excellent again. To be recommended.
