I agree with everything said, and more!! A lovely place but please note IT IS THE No 14 Bus!!! Take the 14 direct to a lovely evening.

I was wonderfully surprised by the food and service at La Strega! There is a wonderful seafood pasta that is as good as any I have had. And the manager and staff were unobtrusive and very helpful, not easy to achieve. I would recommend La Strega to anyone who loves Italian food. And the Number 22 bus stop is right at the front door - what could be more convenient.

I agree, I have been going there for years and cannot rate this place too highly. It serves great food at a good price with lovely service.

I cannot believe that this wonderful place has not yet been reviewed. I know that there are lots of traditional Italian bistros around, but on this stretch of the Fulham Road where restaurants close down almost weekly there must be something special about La Strega for it to be buzzing every night with the sound of satisfied diners. My girlfriend and I went last night (a Tuesday in January) having passed many other places along the Fulham Road which looked empty and sad. For the umpteenth time the flicker of candlelight and the sight of a crowded dining room drew us back to one of our favourite locals. The service is always charming and helpful, the decor is cosy and the hearty pastas, pizzas and meat dishes are supplemented by several delicious specials. Prices are also surprisingly low considering the quality (a meal for two with wine rarely costs more than forty pounds and there's a discount for cash). I was going to say that none of this is exactly revolutionary but in fact in South West London an atmospheric, candlelit local which serves lovely food and doesn't break the bank is a rarity that's definitely worth writing about.
