i COMPLETELY AGREE . Miraggio is brilliant , we have been going there regularly for three years now and have always had fantastic food, friendly service and great value, and as you say entirely italian!
it is the kind of place you can take your dad, your friends your colleagues and always have a superb time.
my favourite restaurant in london.

Dear Emad,
a very passionate review, but i have to say that i sincerely disagree. Everytime i have gone to mirragio the food was great, the atmosphere very chilled and homely and the people were definately italian....that's for sure. I honestly fail to understand what could have provoked such an inadequate review as you have displayed.
Too say that Mirragio is not Italian food, is basically to undermine the 10 years that you have spent in Italy.
sincerely yours
Maria

We went to Miraggio after it-s summer reopening and were welcomed by a great Saturday atmosphere! Calamari fritti and baked aubergines for starter were gorgeous as ever, followed by seabass on the grill for main course. We are getting married in november and Miraggio is definitely a great local place for us to celebrate!

I use London Eating a lot but have never felt passionate enough to give my own review. I went to Miraggio with my boyfriend for dinner last night expecting nothing more than an authentic Italian meal. We ordered Calamari Fritti to share as an entree which, for 9.00, we were expecting a decent sized starter. We were brought 2 portions which, even combined would not have been worth 9.00. In addition, I had specifically asked 2 waitresses if it was crumbed as, being a coeliac, I cannot eat flour. Both gave conflicting answers and I still am not quite sure myself.
For mains we both ordered the Veal Scallopine al Limone, expecting beautiful, tender white veal. What we were served was brown Schnitzel in lemon flavoured gravy - a far cry from any Italian veal dish I have had in the past.
To top it off, the side dishes we ordered (roast potatoes and rocket salad) were incorrect (fries and mixed salad) and, when the bill finally came, we were overcharged for our calamari as well as for both our sides.

We cannot go back often enough. Wonderful, friendly and thoroughly Italian atmosphere. I have tried many dishes and they are reliably excellent. Today, my friends and I had spaghetti bolognese, gnocchi sorrentino andpenne all' arrabbiate with polpette alongside. Scruptious!

I went back to Miraggio recently and I have to say that although the food was still good - the veal scallopine is outstanding -the service has grown very bizarre. In a sense it is charming - the mother of the family was sat at the front desk for the whole of our meal while presumably her sons and daughters scurried out doing the serving. All through the evening however other members of the family arrived, one of whom had a shouting match with the mother and then stormed out while others gossiped at the counter and little bambinos ran around our table and were fussed over. The place was certainly a hubbub of family atmosphere but the problem was that it made us feel as though we as paying diners were an irrelevance. We weren't asked how the meal was and despite ending up as the only people in the restaurant the service was still lazy and slightly flippant as the family were too busy chatting to really bother with us. There was also something very funny going on with their licensing situation which I won't dwell on but found rather irritating. At any rate the food was decent, although we did have to send back a very badly burnt bruschetta which was in no state to be served and which the waiter took back merely with a shrug rather than apologising to us. I don't think we'll be hurrying back which is a shame as this has the potential to be a really good local.

I'm Neapolitan and when I went to Il Miraggio I didn't expect to eat one of the best "Pastiera" I've ever had in my life. Go there if you like Italian food, you'll love it!

I went here on Saturday night with some friends from out of town. I hadn't been for a while, I had always found it very reasonable, I Definately WONT be going back ! We had possibly the worst service i have ever experienced whether I went on a bad night or not I don't know. We were a party of 9, and had booked a table, we were ushered into a room downstairs in the corner and away from the main dining area, maybe we were "out of sight, out of mind". On arrival we were given only 2 menus between the 9 of us, the Waiter took 5 of our orders then disappeared for 10 minutes before coming back to take the remainder....the food was Average at best, the main courses arrived, then we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for the final main to arrive (Apparently it was still being cooked) then on 3 more occasions we had to fetch the waiter either to order more wine or to ask for pepper/parmesan cheese, we clearly were out of sight and out of mind.
Besides all this it is on the expensive side, Starters ranged from £5 to £11.50 mains anything upto £21, alot of money for the location and general feel of the place.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, my guests were sadly very disappointed !!!
