I couldn't disagree more with the other review - The Capri is one of the best value and most authentic Italian restruants in London. The Steak is great value and the wine list is very good.
We have had nothing but exceptional service either - the surroundings are no thrills but if you are looking for one of the best kept secrets in London , looks no further.

Having wandered around Hammersmith looking for somewhere to eat, we were delighted to find Capri hidden down a side street. From the outside the restaurant looked quaint and authentic so we ventured inside. What a mistake! The service was sterile and the food uninspiring. The spaghetti bolognaise tasted salty and processed and the mushroom risotto was more like a Chinese vegetable rice dish. Salads featured mainly Iceburg lettuce which, I have never come across in Italy, altogether bland. Portions are huge, but authenticity, taste and quality are noticeable by their absence. Soft drinks are extortionate. The owners may speak Italian, but I wonder if they have ever eaten in Italy!
