Just returned from this restaurant, having read previous reviews on this site and were excited about such enthusiastic reccomendations for a local Italian.
Utterly dissapointed. No atmosphere at all given the fact it was empty bar a table of 6 (on friday night), and the background music was hideous.
Best italian outside italy-where had these people eaten?!! We shared a rubbery seafood salad to start, followed by uninspiring Trout and Veal mains both served with matching tasteless potatoes, soggy french beans and slightly better deep fried courgettes.
Service was polite but utterly minimal- to the extent we had to had our bill over to the counter as we were leaving as we'd given up waiting for them to get it, even though we were the only people there by this time. No-one asked if we'd enjoyed the food at any point-even though we were returning alot of the very large portions. Paid £37.50, which would have got us better food and
a much nicer setting at Frankie's down the road.
Have posted this review so others aren't misled by the previous ones.

Lovely little restaurant, a hidden gem that deserves to be known really. Food is great in its simplicity (typical italian). The veggies are served from a big dish straight into your plate by the waiting staff, so no no worries about portions being too small. A perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner (there must have been only 2 or 3 other customers when I went there a weekday evening with my girlfriend).
Can't wait to come back there, just a shame I don't live closer to Hammersmith!

Have been to Capri a few times now and must say it is the best Italian we have had outside of Italy. There is no dodgy pizza and pasta here but proper Italian dishes cooked to perfection and served lovingly by the Italian couple who own and run the place. We were a bit cautious the first time we went as the restaurant is down a side street and does look less than impressive from out the front but after hearing the place talked up by some locals we decided to go in. We are so glad that we did as the food is superb and inside the place is cute and quaint like a real Italian trattoria.
