Had a terrible meal. Really disappointed as it was a special occassion and we have ordered before many times before and had eaten in the restaurant also. What really annoyed me was when my wife called to complain the man on the phone defended the poor quality of food and then said goodbye! WOW! Customer Service - Forget it! I had previously gave them some really serious tips..........Don't go...

Lam's is one of the best local Chinese restaurants in town and we go there or get take aways all the time. The food is delicious - always and i cannot recommend it more highly. Service is excellent and the owners are charming. You won't regret it and any bad review must have been written by some unworthy competition. Please visit Lam's and enjoy !

Below-par food, ghastly service - Grumpy old man and his wife, looked like the owners as they were bossing staff about. Almost snarling at the mention of a 50% offer.

The prawn crackers left on your table? You pay for them, mind you. One of those!

The food had a wierd smell and the pork was under-cooked and a bit of it was actually cold!?

Atrocious food and abyssmal service. Avoid.

I have been to this restaurant several times now and it is my favourite Chinese! The service was excellent from day 1 and much better than the general standard of service in Chinatown.

More importantly the food is great. Every time I go there I order something new and so far I have not been disappointed. The bean curd dishes along with the sizzling selections are particularly good in my opinion.

We booked a table for 2 for 9.45pm last Sat on the Tastelondon offer. An exceedingly grumpy lady on the phone confirmed the booking. When we showed up the restaurant was empty and when we asked for our table she blatantly LIED saying she hadn't received any call. We showed her our phone where the call to the restaurant was registered as a 2 min conversation!!?? She couldn't be bothered. Appalling customer service! We've been to Lam's before and service has been non-existent and abysmal and the food just about palatable but we were short of time and in the area so decided to have a basic bite before heading out. We weren't expecting gourmet!! Shocking that this dump is still open and allowed to trade. They should be penalised for lying. I actually have proof that a call was made and attended to by the restaurant. They should be ashamed.

7 of us ate at Lam's last week and had a great meal. We all had starters and mains, so chose a good selection between us and everything tasted great. Service was lovely too - very friendly and accomodating. The Chinese beer is lovely too.

Go for crispy duck!

I am sure we will return.

It's had been a while since Big Matt and I had been to our old haunt "Lam's" and it had lost none of it's allure. Back when Matt lived in Chiswick no night out on Chiswick High Road or Hammersmith was complete without a trip to Lam's. It is a great little local chinese. It's not going to drag you over to especially eat there but if you are out in the area or live nearby it should be top of your list. I've had some great nights in there like the time Villa Steve ran off from the table when he caught a smell of the saki we had ordered or the time I took my future wife there after a wine tasting in Syon Park and fell asleep in my sweet and sour pork. However mostly we go there after a few drinks for a very tasty chinese, served by charming staff and at a reasonable price.

Last night we were meant to be at a pub quiz in the Cross Keys but we missed the start so rather than go mad on a school night we thought we would venture to Lam's. It was empty apart from another table who entertained us with some singing. We were served quickly but in a friendly fashion. The free prawn crackers are a nice touch. We had lovely seasoned seaweed, tasty capital spare ribs. half a duck which was slightly too much for two and some fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. The rice in particular was excellent. All washed down with a Tsing Tao.

It was really nice to go back to an old favourite and see that it was just as good as ever. I hope my next visit is not too far off
