Mmmm - "The Best italian restaurant" in central London ?

This may be true, but it is more a reflection on how bad the others are, rather than how good this is. I personally found the food a bit bland - the menu is very old school, but that's not necessarilly a problem. They are obviously good at what they do because it was packed out - service gets 11 out of 10 - you can't fault it, despite it being a very busy day. Well worth trying, but don't expect the best Italian restaurant in London.

I'm amazed no one has reviewed Sirena's yet. Perhaps the regulars are keeping it a secret! It was a favourite haunt of mine for years in the 90s, and I suspect it's as good as ever. I think the original owners are still in charge - great people. The food was always fresh and well cooked without being pretentious. The house wine was fine, and the coffee good. The atmosphere in the cellar where it hides is brilliant - noisy and friendly - and the service efficient even when very busy. Try lunch there tomorrow!
