Dusk

I went to Dusk for the second time only last week. After the first visit i wasn't expecting a particularly pleasant evening; i was right. I'm not too sure why but this place seriously rates itself. The staff are rude, frankly incompetetant and seem to forget they are offering a service and that us buying drinks is paying their wages. The music was too loud to talk and yet it was too crowded and hot to dance. For the life of me i cannot understand why this bar was busy. If i hadn't been going to a friends party - a friend that has a lot of answering to do - i would have left immediately. I had to wait 25 minutes for a drink and then had to wade through a sea of peroxide, avoiding the chips on the permatan shoulders. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

this bar is cool, the style is ok, the food is horrendous, but the cocktails are fantastic. Great music and great staff, Ive heard the managment/owner is an ass&ole but dont let that ruin your experience. Worth the trip.

Sometimes i don't believe how stupid people can be! I have held parties at Dusk before and i've never had a problem. When you book you are told that the space will not be yours exclusively, the email confirmation arrives and it states that no presents will be allowed into the bar, OK it's a bit odd but you are told and the management couldn't be friendly. Next tiem love, just book a pub!

I have never been to a more rude and unfriendly bar.

My boyfriend arranged my 30th birthday party here and the manager knew this was a birthday party - as with most birthday parties people bring presents - however - at Dusk they are so far up their own....... that my guests were asked to check in presents at the door and leave them in the cloakroom - they were not allowed to give them to me. The door staff said it was policy - in which case why didn't they mention this 'policy' when they happily took the money for a booking for a birthday party? My mother who travelled into London especially for my party was not even allowed to give her daughter a birthday present on her 30th. Nice. And what difference would it have made having people take presents in anyway? - if they were worried about the 'impression' the bar was giving to others - we were tucked away in a private room anyway! If they don't want to be seen to be hosting birthday parties then they shouldn't take the booking . The door staff were particularly rude and one person was insiting very aggresively that she wanted to show me an e mail about 'policy' to prove it to me!!!! You think they would have had a little compasion and understanding that this no present policy is a little weird but no.

At the end of the evening, even though the bar was still full out front - we were hurried out of the room (that we had paid money to hire) by an incredibly rude & patronising doorman. A great way to end my 30th birthday - so thanks for that.

This place is so pretentious and expensive and the doorstaff are so rude I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They also didn't seem to care that they pretty much managed to annoy all of my 60 plus guests and none of those people will ever go there again either. Nor will they recommend to their friends which in London I think is a huge mistake. Please please do not go here - these people do not deserve to take your money and the sooner they realise that just because it's London doesn't mean we are prepared to be treated in such a way - the better.
