I have heard of the Korean BBQ and had been convinced to try it. Which is why I decided that I would go there for my birthday a group of friends. Once arriving there the place is very modern and the atmosphere was rather good (This was 9pm) The first downfall was that we had to share one menu between the four of us, which was quite difficult. Once getting through this we all ordered the BBQ etc. The BBQ was as good as many have said, specially the chicken, and also at the end they gave us all fruits (free) However the problem started when the bill came, including a separate bill for drinks. Now as there was more then ten of us, I personally asked if the bill was separated in to two while one group paid for their meal the other group asked to pay separate as they all had cards. This was agreed on so those paying separately paid for their meal and their drinks. Which if it was even a 5year old child would know that that meant the money for their drinks would be deducted from from the drinks bills. Not in this restaurant. It was half 11 at night and we were all held back being blamed for not paying half of the drink bill, when there were receipts that proved what we had paid all this. No matter how much we explained the were refusing to actually have the decency, when there is even evidence, to allow us to sort this out. When the manager came he too was accusing us. Which finally at the end, after the manager checking the receipt and acknowledging that they were wrong he rudely shouted at us to "GO!" which was terribly rude. So I advise anyone planning to go BE CAREFUL they are very sly. Actually I would not recommend you even going here.

I went there for the second time on Sunday evening (Easter) because I enjoyed the first time. It was two of us and I have to admit we went there a bit late (probably 9.45), but the manager came to open the door all smiling. They made us eat in 20 minutes and brought the bill straight after without asking if we wanted something else. Food was good, but service was poor, it would have been appreciated if the manager had told us when he came to open the door that we wouldn't have enough time. Won't go there again.

very good food! quite pleased with my experiences here overall. bulgogi, galbi and dwenjang chigae are my favourites. jap chae was a bit too greasy for my liking. side dishes were great. generous and kind staff. only negative point: wish they would redo the bathrooms soon. in any case, will be coming back for more, definitely.

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

Tuesday, July 26, 2011 - We stared impatiently as they slowly sizzled on the hotplate, chopsticks poised ready to snatch the morsels off the plate and shovel the searingly hot meat into our gaping maws...I soon learned to blow, wait and dip into the numerous sauces, pastes and oils dotted around the table. I think it's fair to say that it was all very good. Each tender sliver of meat slowly and methodically turned until it was cooked just enough to eat...The staff are polite and friendly, and the food is up there with the best Korean food I have had in London, and at 20 quid a head, it was extremely good value.

World Foodie Guide - 7/10

Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - The service was friendly, despite it being very busy throughout the entire time we were there (with up to ten people waiting by the entrance to be seated at one point). And the food was perfectly fine. Not outstanding, but on a par with any of the good Korean restaurants in New York.
