I have used Basilico over the years and think it is resting on its laurels. It is sometimes very good, sometimes mediocre. Notice how it hasn't won an award in years? I agree with others that the service is shabby but to be honest I'm more concerned with the food, which is also patchy. They charge big prices but the toppings are miserly. On my last order I found maybe three or four mushrooms on my pizza fungi au truffle and could not discern even a hint of truffle oil. The base was dry and too chewy as well. As I worked my way through it I found myself thinking that Basilico must be making a fortune, given the mark up on the raw materials. Bottom line: could do better, way better.

I am a regular customer of Basilico. I have to say this pizza is one of the best in London even they have their ups and downs. But who does not? I have never had bad expecience with their food or service. Their pizzas are fabolous and the taste is delicious. In case something goes wrong I call them up and we solve the problem in a nice way. They know their customers and how to deal with them.

Expensive, rubbish service, rubbish food. I phoned and ordered a pizza. 'You need to spend at least £10 to order by Switch', they said. OK. So I ordered a tiramisu and was told my food would be delivered in 45 minutes. 20 minutes later, the girl at Basilico phoned me back, then asked me to hold while she had a conversation with someone in the background. I waited. Then she told me there was no tiramisu. I ordered profiteroles instead. My 'food' eventually arrived. The pizza was so dry I gave up after two slices. The profiteroles were tasteless and went in the bin too. Never again.

I must say Basilico perplexes me. On some occasions the pizza is absolutely second to none leaving a taste in ones mouth that just craves more. However, I have never been to a restaurant/take away which is so inconsistent. One day the pizza will be stone cold, dripping in oil, hard, chewy etc, the next it will be fantastic. IN conclusion, if you pick the right day your in for a treat, if you pick the wrong day, you won;t be back!!!

Just a fabulous take out pizza which can be delivered in the area. Absolutely delicious and special. The cost can be high but it's worth it.
