The China Garden

dissapointing experience. We were staying at the Marriott just up the road and decided that the restaurant looked good. They took ages to serve........and I mean ages, and our peking duck for two came with loads of crackers underneath (to make it look more) and skin on top to make it look flashier. The worst crepes I've ever had. I said is this a serving for two....... answer: oh yes! peking duck is very special!!!! My soup took about half and hour to come.The price was extremely high for what in my opinion is just a very ordinary 'chinese'. I think they did us because we all spoke spanish, that's the way I feel anyway. How awful to go to a restaurant and think that they're cheating you.There were six of us four adults and two children.

I am chinese and i came to london for 9years. For so many years, i tried very hard to find a nice chinese restaurant. I have been coming to China garden in swiss cottage since last year., My friend told me the restaurant is under the new management. So i think I should give it a try. I was so satisfied with the restaurant . The atmosphere are nice. Food are very traditional and very tasty. From that day on, I come to the restaurant at least twice every week.

I will never go to this restaurant again. Ever.

I called to order takeaway food for a special occasion and was told to collect in 10 to 15 minutes. I arrived and was told that my order was not ready. I went out and returned 10 minutes later. This time, I was told that there was a problem with my order i.e. it had never been sent to the kitchen. The staff started to argue amongst themselves and eventually remembered that I was still standing there, and told me to wait.

I was already running late because of their incompetence and decided to go a few doors down to Green Cottage. In hindsight, I was lucky that I did so. The food from Green Cottage was expertly prepared and delicious - our guests were delighted.

So, many thanks to Green Cottage and to those who dare to venture to China Garden, I wish you the best of luck.

I will not be tempting fate by going anywhere near China Garden again.

I have ordered Tom yum soup, terrible !!! how can you add green peas in Thai Soup. An English Chinese mixed of food. Price is fairly good !

Its been a while since I last ate at china garden and I was impressed by the overall quality of the restaurant however it didn't impress me enough to constantly eat there every so often.

This time I can confidently say it has shown practically major improvements in all fronts as such the restaurant will leave a distintive unique impression that is hardly found in most returants today.

Went there this week, really loved the food. Restaurant now has new owner/manager and 2 chefs so different styles are available. I am sure it is going to get even better. Will be back!

excellent food! the staff were friendly and very helpful to me and my baby! the food was delicious! i will be coming back! also, they deliver so i'll be ordering take out on my lazy days!

okay so, went there on a recommendation, the food was average and the staff was TERRIBLE AND MEAN!! was it because we brought kids in?? don't know but will NEVER go again!
