Decor was dark and dingy, like a seedy night club. I ordered from the lunch special a limited choice of three/four mains extra cost for side dishes and extra cost for drinks. The menu's layout was vague, and limited in choice. I ordered the Japanese curry no description, and an extra side salad. the waitress's English was poor , she was very unhelpful and I had to ask several times for my order. When the food arrived it was pretty ordinary, she failed to mention that the curry came with a salad already on the side. When I contested about paying for the extra salad I didn't understand her reply. She was rude and in the end I just paid. Very expensive with a hidden service charge for boring unappetising food. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.

My boyfriend and I frequent Minato at least once a month. Place is small and slightly expensive considering that it is not located in central london. However, we enjoyed the food and service. They have a variety of set dinners, sushi is fresh, staffs are very friendly and owner is always accomodating of our needs. He takes the time to explain what the dishes are and what are the best food combination to order.
Definitely worth a try...

I was quite impressed with the deco while waiting at the entrance, but the whole experience turned out to be disastrous.
We ordered a shabu-shabu, a pork katsu and rice. The shabu-shabu was tasteless, we found ourselves dipping tiny beef thin slices into a soup as plain as water.
Then came the pork cutlets, it was just average. but the most shocking thing was actually the rice-it was a size of small ice-cream scoop sitting in a tiny bowl and that was charged at £2. my husband could down the rice in one go.
This place is not at all worth a visit. Plus the idea of mixing Korean and Japanese food has also put us off altogether.

Minato has now been my favourite place to be for over a year now and will continue to be due to their constant high service and fresh food. The Manager (Don) is always welcoming aswell as his staff. Due to being a occasional customer the service I recieve just keeps getting better. The sushi is by far the best in London... so good that my "no not sushi!!" girlfriend loves it.

Nice Decor, Atmosphere and service just a shame about the food. Soggy gyoza's for starters were reasonable and the wifes maki roll was ok.Over boiled Edamame with no salt
was nothing to inspire. But my main course was the shocker, for £10.50 my korean Kimichi and beef soup was a small bowl of boiled water with a few glass noodles, a few shreds of beef and what once was kimichi cabbage but now was tasteless and overcooked a few slices of spring onion were also included what a bargain. The soup itself was tasteless and only saved by adding my side order of kimichi to it and some chilli powder.
My wife had the Tori-teryaki don, she is Japanese and thought this was average at best and not authentic in the least.
The sticky rice wasn't all that great either.
On the positive side decor and service was good. Maybe we made poor selections and the sushi or other dishes are of a better standard however we will not be returning to find out.

This has been a repeated hit with my friends and family. Naturally, they go there because I like to go back. The availability of Korean food is amazing and the sushi is usually very fresh and exciting. They do have a new chef, though. I will watch this space.
