Tino's Restaurant

Being in the restaurant business myself I know how hard it is nowadays to find full time staff and not just students or part timers. For this reason I believe Tino's restaurant to be a great restaurant with great food. The service (especially when busy) can take a while but that is to be expected. On less busy days the service is always excellent with Tino nearly always there in person. The food if you know what to pick is excellent with hearty portions (again if you know what to go for) and reasonably priced (if you want cheaper cook it yourself.)
All in all an institution in St. John's Wood and a place to visit preferably mid week to get the best service.

I don't understand why there are such poor reviews on the grounds of service. I went for a meal at Tino's last weekend, and it was pretty busy, but, despite this, the service was good. We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes between each course, and the staff were very firendly.
Food was very good, and there was plenty of choice, although the desserts were a bit lacking.
Overall, it was very enjoyable. Highly reccommended if you fancy Italian

Entered the restaurant full of great expectation as it looks attractive and was pretty full and lively.
However, can only sum up the experience as over-priced mediocre food with rude unprofessional service certainly not deserving of the addition of 12 1/2%.
We will certainly not be returning.

As you enter this restaurant, your expectaions are high. The atmosphere and decor fit in with a traditional family restaurant. You read the menu and are impressed with the array of dishes. The prices promise excellent food is on its way.
I had the speciality, a fish dish, and was thouroghly disappointed with both quality and pathetic size of the fish. Presentation did not live up to the expactations that the menu suggested. Service was no better, and got only worse. In the interest of fairness, my partner had veal, which was satisfactory only.
We even felt the need to complain which was met with contempt. We left unhappy and will certinly not be going back.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years and it has always been excellent value for money. The menu may not change, but I find the dishes they do serve extensive and they rarely dissappoint. Whilst it happens to be local to me. I feel I would still travel to dine there. Pity it allows smoking.

The food was ok, but nothing special. Very dim atmosphere - very disappointed. If you go just to fill your stomach, it's fine. But for anything else I wouldn't recommend that restautant and I doubt I will ever go again.

Real St John's Wood gem. Been here forever.... Food is great, service 'local', prices reasonable and Wine List drinkable, though a little limited. A regular haunt for woodies who can't be bothered to cook.
