I used to go to stingray once in a while but now I just cant wait to dine there at least once a week. The food is lovely, from the starters to the ice-cream, but the very surprise for me was the pizza: I have been around to proper italian places and was left very disappointed. I am italian and Ive found the real italian-style pizza in Stingray. The place and the guys working are friendly and its always a real pleasure.

i would say its perfect for those who look for a relaxing atmosphere and those who dont want to spend ages on a 100 pages menu. Stingray is simple and lovely for that.

Our family - me, my wife and two year old - go here regularly and love it. The food is tasty, the portions are a good size. It really does an amazing job of being a good Italian/Mediterranean restaurant at cafe prices. Well worth a visit.

Just got home from a lovely meal at Stingray. Incredible value for money! £5.95 for 3 courses (including a 12 inch pizza). I had the cod from the specials which was cooked to perfection. My b/f had the 3 courses, which included a really nice soup as a starter and a lovely tiramasu for dessert. For a Tuesday night the place was really lively, so I think it must be a hot spot for the people of Tufnell park. The upstairs is smoking and the downstairs non, which is a good divide, much better than when non-smokers have to sit very close to the smokers. Drinks were reasonably priced, with house wine at a tenner a bottle and other drinks at standard bar prices. Overall a really lovely place for a cheap evening out. The only thing I would say is that the restaurant advertises itself as modern european but apart from the specials all of the main courses are pizza or pasta, so maybe the place would be better advertised as italain (but maybe the others in the chain have a wider variety) x

I have to put in a review here having been to Stingray so often over the last year or so and now moving out of the area will miss it hugely

you should go for the scallops alone...on the specials board but I've had them evey time, they're down as a starter but huge enough as a main...four giant scallops cooked to perfection encased in proscuitto ham - honestly I haven't had scallops this good anywhere else, and certainly not for under a fiver!!

The service is decent, as is the draft beer, and the specials are always nice...but if you're a scallop lover (or just someone who lives in tufnell park needing a good cheap eat) this is the place to head to

A brilliant find, my husband and I were driving around islington looking for good food at a good price, what we got was great food at an amazingly cheat price I had the sea bass, my husband went for the three course set menu at £5.95!!!!! we arrived at 10:30pm on Easter Sun and the service was still brilliant. Check it out.

Stingray is our local pizza place. It's fantastic value and the staff are really decent. Its signature pizza, the so-called "Stingray" is not the greatest. But the general pizzas are really good, the dough bases are really light textured. Non pizza offerings (particularly veggie rigatoni) v. good. This restaurant succeeds where others have failed at Tufnell Park. Check it out.
