If you ever go to eat out in london and u want amazing fresh indian food then this is the place. If you want more of a bar restaurant then this is the place. If you want more of a restaurant feel then go its brother (spice rack). Both are as good as each other.

The service is great, ok they may rush u abit but u can see why. There is never a table spare and people are always waiting. So flavoursome and Fresh. Check it out

This restaurant is really a pub I guess. Extended due to its success. The food is authentic indian and very fresh. They allow Children in on Sundays only.

The menu is extensive and proof of how good the food is evident by the number of people using it. And mostly repreat customers.

I travel 15 miles or more to use it and find it very good. I read a review about Pankaj. Hes ok really just a bit dour. But you can have a laugh with him too.

If youve not gone before go. Its worth the journey. This place has ICONIC status amongst curry lovers.

I was first introduced to The Regency Club by a relative, now I’m a regular visitor. I’m there almost twice or even thrice a week. I have been there on a week day and in a week end, the level of food and service is always consistent. The food there is just incredible, freshly cooked in front of your eyes. I have almost tried every dish on the menu they are all made to perfection(Both veg and non veg), and if you have any special dietary requirements they will try to meet them. The starters are mouth watering so is the main course, it is never enough and you want to go back for more. My friends & colleagues have also been to Regency, and they just love the place. The bbq lamb(“lamb tikka”) being one of my favourites along with their ‘panner tikka special’ which is an Indo-Chinese fusion.

I go there so often that I know exactly how they operate. Whether it is a week day or a week end, the place is always buzzing, the staff their work under high pressure but again you cannot see that on their faces and they also make you feel welcome, as I am a regular there I am address by my first name. Even though I am well know, I still have to wait for a table as they run a strict first-come-first serve policy.

I don’t understand what ‘NEHA’ said; she is just trying to compare the place with a typical ‘Bengali/ Indian restaurant’. Regency’s food and their chutneys are just unique. Especially the red chutney, if only they sold litres of it! They don’t do a mint sauce but I think instead its a coconut based chutney which is just as good as the red chutney but not as spicy. I assume this is a well thought out decision by their chef ! The onion salad they give is complimentary, if you want their “special salad”, you can always order it from the menu. I normally just tell the waiter how I want it. But don’t be fooled to expect a traditional leaf salad, as it doesn’t compliment their food.

Compared with other places, their portions of food are big and reasonably priced, you just get the value for money. Not only the food, they also have a wide range of drinks available to suit all types of customers. I don’t think it is a big deal if they don’t do ‘ORANGINA’. Isn’t Tango pretty much the same thing?

Must admit that the staff can sometimes be a bit pushy, but then it is understandable as there is a queue of people waiting for the tables. How would you feel if you were the one waiting for a table? But again they don’t really rush you whilst your eating. And they are willing to go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

I don’t believe they charged you for the items you did not have as they always investigate customer queries thoroughly, as they have with me in the past. Human error can occur sometimes but I’m sure it’s not deliberate. I have been to a lot of clubs & restaurants, but find Regency the best. It has a vibrant atmosphere with good service & fresh tasty food. Above of all you get value for money. I would highly recommend this place to anybody who loves authentic home cooked Indian food. For me Regency is a home away from home!

went here on a friday night. after all the positive things i heard about this restaurant from people, thought we would check it out....BIG MISTAKE. the service was terrible and the food was not worth it! To start off with, there were 5 of us there, we were given 5 plates, and forks with only 2 tissues and no knives to cut our food.

with the starters, i was looking fwd to my kebab and mint sauce, only to find that it was not the normal mint sauce that usually accompanies the starters in Indian restaurants, was replaced with a coconut one instead - yuk! it just didn't go. The starters was just not up to scratch. 5 paneer pieces in a starter dish. salad consisted of a few onions and tomatoes, not a proper salad at all - poorly presented.

during the dinner our table kept filling up with empty glasses which we would have to ask the waiters to remove - they didn't just use their common sense and take them away when bringing new ones. We ordered 'Orangina" a fizzy orange juice only to be given orange juice. When as mentioned that was not our order we were only told what is Orangina - you work in a bar as the bar man and you don't know what Orangina is!

We were there for my mums birthday so, wanted to make a nice pace evening of it. however as soon as we got there, we hadn't even sat down properly, only just given our drinks order (which had not arrived yet!) we were asked if what starters we wanted to order. We had heard they want a quick table turn over, but his was silly. Fine we ordered starters only then to finish and up comes a waiter to ask about main corse! - They rush you trough your meal, which was not favoured by us at all.

They had added items like Rotli and more drinks to our menu which were not ordered - but we still had to pay for!

We were ignored several times by waiters - and fobbd off and seemed a bit arrogant.

The backless stools were really uncomfortable as well. The Food Quality and Service was just not there, and defiantly not a place I would return to!

Been there tonight and turned up at the door at 8.30 and was told that i would have to wait 1 hour for a table by the manager Pankaj, They do not use a booking system as they are always busy, this is what i was told when ringing in advance.

After half an hour wait and watching lots of delicous looking food pass us, we decieded to order our starters at the bar as there was only four of us. We ordered Chicken lollipop (one of the specials, in a sweet and sour sauce, quite nice), Garlic Mogo (one of the best i have ever tased), Mushkaki (version of Lamb tikka, lovely tender meat in spicy marinade quite delicious), Lamb Chops (Tender but way too hot, i eat green chilli's with my food usually and this still burnt me out), and chiili prawns (the stir fried variety, nice but not worth the price compared to the others).

We also ordered main but even though the naan were good but it was thought that the starters were the show stealers here so i would stick to them.

In my opnion i would insert some sort of booking system and maybe modernise - we would have great product here with good prices.

not to owners: ditch the dart board asap - that is not the crowd to attract a lot of customers.

Well what can i say the welcome was so friendly. The food yet again out of this world. As a lover of indian food i have been to many indian restaurants, but The Regency is by far the most enjoyable, tasty, welcoming restaurant i have been to.

I could not fault anything. My thanks go to all the staff for such a wonderful evening. I had told the friends that went along with us that the food was fantastic but was worried they would not feel the same,I was wrong to be so. My friends were so impressed they are hoping to visit The Regency with us next time we go. We live some 70 miles away from this restuarant but would travel to The Regency to get take TAKEAWAY!! I have refused to eat in any other indian restaurant now and will only eat here because i cant help compare any where else to The Regency. The food, once again, was out of this world and I just want to say thankyou for refreshing my tastebuds.

I went to this restaurant and also its sister restaurant Spice Rack and I have to say both were appaulling. Service was miserable and slow, the food was so hot that i could have drank a litre of water with my meal! also the waiters push you to order more food than necessary and this really annoyed me!

I have been to Regency a few times now and experienced the same level of service coupled with the atmosphere and food every time, leaving me with no remorse as I write this review.

I had read good reviews and arrived there with high hopes. Almost immediately was I forced to change my mind. The floor manager himself saw fit to greet the party with the surliest of faces, almost as if he was disappointed, or did not want my party in the restaurant. Curious to see if this was the way he treated every customer I watched him as he left the table. He did not; instead proving that nepotism lives on in todays society, as he callously flirted around other customers, making poor jokes in the process.

Aside from the poor service, the food was not too bad. However, the chicken was diced to an alarming extent; leaving very small pieces of which one is generally not accustomed to when sampling a curry. The soft drinks are not served chilled unlike one would expect in a restaurant where many have claimed to have had a good time.....maybe they know the floor manager better than I do......

There is absolutely no Indian restaurant on earth like The Regency, not even in India. The food is awesome, and reasonably priced, as are the drinks.

Starters are my favourite! Being vegetarian - chilli paneer and garlic mogo is a most. The chef is renouned for these dishes! You MUST try them!

I'm pretty much a regular at The Regency, as are many people there. It's the kind of place you just keep going back for more and more. Enough really never is enough!

I honestly can not under-sell this place! When you get there, ask for Pankaj - he'll sort you out good and proper! His recommendations are always spot on! ;o)
