Not much point writing about this restuarant. It has now shut its doors.

Overall - I still think that this is one of the best Dim Sum places in ChinaTown - BUT, have to admit - it isn't quite as good as it was maybe a year ago. The portions of some are a lot smaller and taste a little bit too pre-packed. I don't really believe that most chinese dim sum places make all their own dim sum anyway - and instead buy from Dim Sum producers. Maybe they have either changed suppliers or the suppliers have changed their quality.
ANYWAY - it is still good - the service is very efficient - and it is one of the cleanest chinese restaurants in Chinatown.
I would still recommend going here - and if in china town - and wanting dim sum - this is the only place we now go to. (We have tried a lot - as I am 1/2 chinese)

We came here for sunday lunch. We had char sui and rice, and a vegetable stir fry. Both dishes were appetising and the atmosphere was good, although the service was poor. I would come here again to try some other dishes. I think this is one of the better restaurants in chinatown.

I dont understand all the bad reviews for this place! This was my first time coming here and I wasnt sure what to expect. I was not disappointed, the dim sum was average, nothing to really complain about..but I did notice the chung fun looked a little smaller than at other restaurants.
I can around lunchtime in the early afternoon, not too busy at all and restaurant seemed clean and presentable. Anyway the staff seemed friendly enough, I noticed one waiter who even helped the female diners put their coat back on when they were leaving!! I never seen that before anywhere else. The staff made effort to fill our tea cups up and was polite on the way out too to all customers.
Toilets were in nice decent decor and condition, considering other restaurants in China town usually only have one tiny cramped one.
I would come back again

Had a very ordinary meal of Dim Sum at Laureate last Friday. it is such a shame as I remembered a couple of years ago the Dim Sum used to be outstanding. What happened? Did they lose the chef? Anyhow Laureate Dim Sum is no longer better than the run of the mill fare in Chinatown. Come on guys, pull your socks up and give us Dim Sum fans something to talk about.

Went there on Monday lunchtime 12.30pm as had always enjoyed the food and variety in the past; however was disapointed this time. Every dish was lukewarm or best including the tea, I joked to my friend that it was like a buffet lunch! Will have to now give it the benefit of the doubt, could be that it was quite busy at the time but this is no excuse for a cold lunch?

Fried taro is often served cold - this is how it's meant to be, otherwise the crust won't be crunchy.
Regarding filling the teapot - it's chinese custom to leave the teapot lid ajar to indicate it needs filling : did you do this?

I took my mother in law to this restaurant on Mother's day and was absolutely dissappointed with the food and service. The first dish we ordered(Fried taro) was cold. A particular staff handed us the bill when my father in law was still having his dessert, which was rather rude, the restaurant wasn't even full nor busy at around 4pm. The staff walked back and forth our table but failed to refill the teapot. The dim sums were more expensive than other restaurants. I will not go back to this place ever again.

Went there on a weekday for dim sum. Staff were unfriendly and not too charming. Other Chinese restaurants we've been to in Chinatown have given more attentive service, and bothered to smile.
The dim sum menu had good variety, and my partner particularly liked the beef belly dish. The dim sums were tasty overall, but did not supersede those at other restaurants either. The rice puddings were on the salty side, and after awhile one gets the impression that they add in the same salt and pepper to most of their dishes. Result - uniformity in taste.
Plus side was the chee cheong fun which were actually very delicious and perhaps the best we've tried so far in Chinatown. The prices were decent too.
