The hospitality in the restaurant is very welcoming.

The restaurant is always full and the atmosphere is party like and warm.I have eaten in there a few times and ssem to keep going back for more. The food is always fresh and full of flavour.

I would really recommend the Chichen and mushroom strogenoff and the prawns these are my favourite. There will be more interesting curries for me to try in the summer as i have been told by the owners.

No matter what i ask for they will always go out of their way to provide it for me....i would highly recommend going there for a evening packed full of excellent food and great company.

I've been meaning to write this for ages but it's difficult finding the time when I'm not in this brilliant place!

Can't praise highly enough the quality of food (ESPECIALLY the fish dishes), menu, service and general care I have always received in Mauritius Bar.

Whether you just want a 'winding-down' drink after work or a full-blown special night out this is the place to go!

Rajiv is a chef in a million - always surprising us and genuinely caring. His wife is charmingly friendly as are all the other staff. It is definitely the place to relax in, have a drink, munch away and as a bonus watch football! - as I do most weekends!

Thanks guys and keep up the good work!

From a very satisfied local

It will nearly be a year since the first time I had the good fortune to walk into this wonderful restaurant. From day 1 I was hooked - straight away we were made to feel almost as if we had caught up with old friends such is the genuine warmth that chef Rajiv & his lovely wife Preya naturally exude.

As a long-standing vegetarian I have tried 100's of restaurants but nothing compares to the excellent fish menu on offer here plus the many unique vegetable dishes Rajiv conjures up!

It is not often you find a restaurant where you trust the chef so much that you say - as I do - "I leave it to you what I eat" & I have NEVER been disappointed - quite the opposite - I am continually delighted.

Here is a place where you are not just treated as a customer - they truly care. Rajiv is not a chef who merely cooks the food he clearly loves - he is very much at the front making sure his customers are happy. Preya too is very much in touch in her warm, friendly way.

Yet another plus point is the fact that there is no pressure on you to order a 3 course meal - you can have a delicious snack from the very extensive menu or simply just sit at the bar having a drink.

All in all this is a restaurant which has definitely got the recipe spot-on - in all aspects. Rajiv, Preya & their delightful daughters who are absolutely charming to us are lovely.

I have introduced many friends & family here & they all keep coming back for more - as shall I!

Thank you all at Mauritius.

Decided to pay a visit again to congratulate the good people who treat customer like family/friends, cook food with great love and attention to details.I have dine at this restaurant a lot, but my last visit was truly an fabulous experince.

We decided to have something different and ask Chef Rajiv what he can offer - he gave us some choices and one of them was a garlan a vegetables and pulses,

We made this choice but was a bit unsure -

Wow the best vegetarian meal ever '' Sorry mum''

We we presented with a Beetroot, Egg, Carrot Salad and Cococnut and Vegetables Soup for Satrter, for Main we had what Chef Rajiv call a Garland of Vegetables with Pulses Passion served with mauritius Faratha '(Chapati) accompanied by Basmati Rice Vegetables pickle and Coconut Chutney

My tips is to allow Chef Rajiv to Surprice you taste bud.

Myself and my husband went to the Mauritius bar & restaurant for the first time, after reading the great reviews. We had exceptionally good service, my husband and I felt at home, with the ambience and the warm hospitality. The food was great, although the lobster was not available, however, this will give us an excuse to go there again in the near future.

Excellent.

I visited Mauritius Bar during the Lobster Festival and me and my friends had a great time. I was impressed by the flexibility of the chef and how he made our evening one to remember. I just asked him to provide us with a variety of dishes and I left the choice to him. It was an amazing selection and we just can't believe the prices we were charged. There was a great atmosphere in the restaurant with live music and great ambience. My friends were so pleased with the whole evening that they kept ringing to ask when we are going there again.

Well done to the owners and staff for creating such a lovely environment to chill out after a hard day's work.

Went to the Mauritius Bar for the first time last night for my good friend Claude's birthday. Had an absolutely great time...this Bar/Restaurant is excellent, very reasonable with excellent food. I must reccomend the Prawns and the Sea Bass, we had many dish's and all were of the highest standard. The hosts and staff extended a very warm welcome and I find it impossible to agree with the negative reviews people have placed on here. We will be dining here again, Rajiv's cooking is the best.
