The Clifton really stands out as one of the best restaurants on Brick Lane (though technically it's just off the edge of it). Went with three others on a Saturday night, and was a little concerned that there was only one other diner present. However, the food was superb. Reasonably priced, with good service. Definitely one to return to.

I've been to many indian restaurants but the atmosphere here was really nice. The wooden carving on the wall and the painting that was hand drawn looked amazing. Im an interior designer and the designs looked great.

The food was amazing! I had a chicken pasanda and it had such a kick to it. It tasted completely different to all the other restaurants i've been to. Service was good cant complain.

I do visit clifton once a month but i live and work in Essex so it is hard but well worth it!

I work for RBS in aldgate and went to clifton restaurant for my christmas party with at least 40 colleagues of mine. Had the best time! They provided us with great service and really nice food. We ended up a little bit drunk but the prices of bottles was really good value for money! Bottles of champagne etc. We really enjoyed our night here and will most definitely be back.

Went to Clifton last night as Tayyabs was too full and when we walked past it was busy and we thought rather than go to ones we knew it would be good to try somewhere different. If only we'd stuck with the original plan!

Aside from excellent naan breads and the masaldar dahl food was mediocre to satisfactory at best

Service was abysmal. Too slow and when it arrived rather inept.

At the end of the meal we were paying by card and the waiter asked about tips and whether we'd put them on card or cash. We said probably card and he stated that he'd prefer cash and proceeded to wait till we took some cash out! I prompted him to get on with processing our card transaction and even after this he waited at the table for us to get a cash tip together. Shame for him we'd already decided against leaving anything as service so awful (this is something I rarely would do but it was really dreadfu)
