Good food, unbelievably bad service. The only time the (many) waiters paid us any attention was when it was time to pay, literally standing over us while we deliberated over the optional 12.5% service charge.
Service in France is pretty short too, but at least they have charm. This place has none.

Aubaine was great...
Now it seems the money is the only important thing in the restaurant... Waiting staff think they are in their local pub... Cheers mate !
Food have no taste anymore...
At least, bread and cakes don't change, always amazing !!

Pleasant restaurant, especially at lunchtime when the sun is shining. All the doors open out.
The food is delicious but very much on the expensive side. Service has improved and is now much more friendly.

I and my wife regularly eat at Aubaine. The food is excellent and very typically french without pretension.
The door policy of making everyone queue is quite frankly ridiculous. If you are listening, M.Owner, DO SOMETHING about it.
It is however a very good restaurant and is worth the annoyance. Anyone that complains about the service or the portions is either blissfully ignorant of French cooking and attitudes to customers or spends too much time eating in American diners..

I had dinner at the Aubaine restaurant with a friend last Friday evening. It was suprisingly empty for a Friday night. The service was indimidating and rather unwelcoming. By contrast the restaurant is beautiful, typically French and the food was superb (if a bit on the expensive side).

Been a few times and have consistenly had bad sevice at the door. They're snooty and typically French. You'll get preferential treatment at the door if you're French (but of course!).
Service attitude when you dine is normal, but attention given is low mainly because they're usually packed (weekend brunch).
The food is average, although I'd recommend the rump steak tartine and the grilled ham/cheese sandwich.
The deserts are really good though, not too sweet with very interesting tastes. Definitely save room for desert!
Atmosphere is good, a lot of young couples or young families (which I find strange). Almost always a baby or two (or four!) in the restaurant.
All-in-all, a good brunch place, if you can deal with the wait at the door, and the attitude...
