We went to Tapanco for some quick tapas before the cinema. It's a fairly solid restaurant. The food wasn't anything special but neither was it particularly bad. It's a little bit on the pricey side for what you get but with a cinema ticket you get 30% off. The service was very good though and they had some live music on the Saturday night which was nice.

I often go to the cinema in Wimbledon with girlfriends and, unless you schlep up to the village, it can be difficult to find somewhere for "snackage" that isn't a hectic chain restaurant.

Last night we popped in here; we'd bought our cinema tickets already and this meant we got a 30% discount off the bill (either the Odeon or HMV Curzon tickets will get you this). One extremely fussy friend decided she didn't like the ribs she'd ordered (the other three of us who'd ordered the same practically inhaled them) and the waitress exchanged them for a (very tasty burger) even though there was nothing actually wrong with the ribs! Another friend hadn't realised her pudding came with chocolate ice-cream (which she doesn't like) and again, they exchanged it. Needless to say, neither of the exchanged items appeared on the bill.

So, lovely service and the food was yummy too.

We stumbled across this place and had no idea it existed, as it is tucked away behind the Odeon Wimbledon. The advantage of this is that whereas every other eating establishment in Wimbledon is packed at the weekends, you can at least get a table here. I don't think that's a reflection of the food, it's just that people don't realize there is a restaurant here!

We came with our young baby and I have to say it is a godsend for families. Not only is there plenty of room inside, they have high-chairs. the food comes quickly and they have a kids menu. Having struggled to find anywhere decent to eat in Wimbledon, I'm glad to have now found this place.

Tapas on the whole are pretty good. I'm sure many of the dishes are pre-prepared, as I would expect. but the quality is ok nonetheless. In particular the bbq ribs and the calamari. Overall, a good option if you have kids and will definitely go back.

The food in Tapanco is not bad, it's just not that great and worse is the service and the lack of atmosphere at any time but the weekend. One of the reasons I will never go back there is the cheeky overpricing. I ordered an apple juice which cost just under £3. I was expecting a nice freshly squeezed juice - what I got was from concentrate and straight out of a carton. I'm not tight, but charging that much is ridiculous and is just about ripping people off. I've also had lukewarm food and a massively overcooked risotto that I could have made at home cheaper and better. If you are going, stick to the Spanish style tapas, it's mediocre but better than other things I've tried. But better still just go somewhere else that is more deserving of your hard earned money,

We visited Tapanco with some friends last night. We found staff very friendly and attentive. We order a few tapas for starter. Most of them were fantastic, specially the Ribs and House Nachos. For main courses we had Fajitas, Chimichangs and Enchiladas. We have eaten in many Mexican restaurants in London and this one by far was the best one.

In addition; there was a vey large party of Mexicans celebrating a birthday with dancing and singing along a Mariachi band which was playing in the restaurant. it was fantastic; it reminded us our holiday in Mexice.

We will definetly go back to Tapanco again.

I visited this restaurant today and was looking forward to some tapas. They had one member of staff on the floor who ushered us to a table - not a word spoken.

After five minutes of looking at the menu, the guy came over and looked at us, I looked up, fully expecting him to take the drinks order, and he walked off. A couple of minutes later, the floor manager came out, checked the table and walked off. After a further five minutes, I decided that I wasn't happy to wait any longer and got up to leave; at this point, the manager saw us leaving, and came over to ask if he could take our drinks order! If the place was busy, and had an atmosphere when we were in there, I wouldn't have a problem waiting, but the reality was that they had no excuse.

Looking at the tapas section of the menu, it was nice sounding, but over-priced for what it was; with a lot of standard dishes missing. I won't be going back, and would much rather the travel to Brindisa or somewhere similar.

My fiance decided to take me out for a meal at a different restaurant. We found Tapancos near the cinema and thought we'd give it a shot.

This was the worst food either of us have ever eaten in our lives!

We decided to order some starters which was just one of many terrible mistakes. The potato skins were hard and barely cooked, the bacon was way overcooked, the nachos had the most sickening cheese sauce on top and the cheese was bland.

The guacamole just looked like the chef had thrown up on our plates, the sour cream had no flavour at all and the tortillas were tiny.

They clas themselves as a mexican restaurant???? Well, I can definately say that there was no mexican flavour in our chicken or steak that was served with our fajitas. The salsa was appauling to say the least.

On top of our meat was an array of boiled or fryed vegetables which you could not work out what they were or how they'd been cooked, fat was oozing off of every piece and was all over the place.

The service was awful, the waitress was very non-verbal and did not make us feel very welcome. To top it all off the bill came to £53.00 which included a service charge of £4.80?!?!?!!! If I had my way and my fiance wasn't so polite I would have refused to pay the service charge at all and probably would have argued out of paying over £50 for the worst meal, service and experience of my life.

Now we've just got back home and my fiance and I are feeling very sick, no doubt due to the gone off salad and flavorless food that was served to us.

We will definately never be going there again, neither will we recommend this place to ANYONE! If you don't want to be ripped off, eat disgusting food or be ill from it after wards DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!

My absolute fave restaurant. Perfect for romantic dinners for 2, as well a big groups. Live music on Friday and Saturday night I believe. The quality of the food is brilliant. Things like Chicken Nachos, Baby Back Ribs or Cheese and Bacon Potato Skins for Starters. Followed by Chimichanga, Fajitas, Full Rack of Ribs, Pizza or Salad for Mains. Also, the amount of food is brilliant for the price!!
