From the outside, Home Cooking is a place you could easily dismiss while you’re looking at the pavement wondering how London bus drivers sleep at night. But this is a good thing, cos it blends in and doesn’t look ostentatious. Getting closer and looking past its outer disguise, you’ll find a fresh, clean, modern restaurant with a contemporary style and a friendly relaxed atmosphere to boot. You may think this sounds like it should be situated in the more fancy parts of London but it is by no means pretentious or anywhere near expensive.

To compliment its interior is the best part, the food. My friends and I agreed that is was one of the best meals we’ve ever had, for a price more akin to its kebab shop neighbours. An example; served up with a beautifully presented main of duck, green beans, potatoes and plum sauce, it looked like it should be sitting in front of a posh chap in Mayfair but without needing his salary to pay for it or a microscope to see it. The portions were spot on and tasted excellent making you think “what’s the catch?!”… but there isn’t one.

Home Cooking it may be called but doesn’t do it justice. If you ever find yourself in ”Action Town” and want to get away from it all, hunt this place down, chill out, eat amazing grub and feel bad for paying too little for it.
