Tong Kanom Thai

We go very often toTong Kanon, and we think it has the best Pad Thai in London. The owner is really lovely, the small green room upstairs has character and makes you feel in Thailand, far away from the ugly Harrow Rd outside.

It's difficult to describe how much I love this place.

Down-sides: It's on a grim stretch of the Harrow Road just down from Willesden Junction station - it's also quite small. You really need to book. It's over two floors but downstairs isn't as nice an ambience (hence only 8/10 for atmosphere - it would be 10/10 for upstairs).

Upsides: The staff are lovely, the food is pretty authentic Thai, it's cheap and it's BYO. The starters are great: Chicken satay, prawn toast (made fresh), fish cakes, prawns in batter. Soups and salads are spicy and excellent. There's a wide choice of mains - green, red, mussulman and jungle curries and stir fries. Their Phad Thai is delicious.

I've been fifteen or twenty times - I haven't had a bad meal once. It's also very inexpensive - there's not even corkage when you bring your own booze (there's an off-licence a couple of doors down).

I've been going to this restaurant for many many years now. I've always had a nice time. The food is great, the service excellent and I just love the cosyness of this place. I've travelled to Thailand and I still love Tong Kanom Thai's food - so far nothing compares to them!

Really nice Thai to have in this area where there is not so many good restaurant.

Great taste, great staff and I have never been sick (which by the way is VERY important in such restaurant!)

Just came back from a lovely meal at Tong Ka-Nom Thai.

Very impressed with the food, the service and the price.

Nice and gay friendly. Service with a smile :-) Only downside is the lack of space..we had to share a table with another party.

Would definitely return.
