Masala Zone (Earls Court)

We used to be a big fan of masala zone. We would frequent the one on marshall street and then when we moved more west discovered the one in Earl's court. We went there a few times but were disappointed to find that the quality of food has gone downhill. At first we thought it was a one-off night...but it has been the same the last 2 times we went back. It is a shame becasue we used to really love the chicken mangalore and the lamb, but we were quite disappointed to find it just tastes very ordinary and the lamb was very chewy, nothing like they are capable of. The staff are very friendly and the bhel puri is very nice but it does not make up for a mediocre main course. Shameful, don't think we will be going back anytime soon.

I've now been to all 3 Masala Zone's and although all are great, this is probably the pick of the bunch. The staff are just that bit more organised and the atmosphere is a lot calmer than Soho. Very good food, very good prices.

Fantastic, Agah was wonderfully charming and a sweet host to both us and our guests.
Really enjoyed our food too of course. Our friends thought it was one of the best Indian meals they had ever had. Open a new branch in Kingston or Richmond please and we will come every week at least once.

The food here will blow you away.
Fantastic starters, you must try the chicken samosa, aloo tikki or the dahi puri. Actually you should try them all. Amazing taste. Noodles are also very good. Basil, lime and chicken with a coconut soup are amazzzzing. I like the noodles here better than most chinese restaurants nearby.
Seriously the food is great, coupled with friendly smart service, genuinely nice people, its a winner.

I ate here for the second time last night; having really enjoyed the first experience I was keen to make sure it was not a fluke.
Although the service was a little inattentive, everything else was spot on. The chickpea curry to start with was alive with freshness and taste. I then shared a deluxe thali with my girlfriend and added an extra portion of, what turned out to be, a delicious aubergine and, amongst other ingredients, banana curry. Original and delicious.
And at a tenner per person (admittedly only one was drinking), it is great value and offers a reliable option in the area.

If an endorsement from an Indian can help...here, you have it. Fantastic Indian food at reasonable prices, unfortunately a rarity in this day and age. The great thing is that the sampler platters will have you taste dishes you might otherwise never think of ordering. As many people stick to the usual...chicken tikka masala, paneer, etc. The service and cleanliness are second to none. The wine/beer prices are reasonable. If I was to have anything negative to say...for this sweet tooth I'd appreciate a few more dessert choices.

We ate here three times during our nine day holiday in London. Great food, friendly wait staff and nice environment. I wish I could find a restaurant in Seattle that has the thali combo. Great restaurant--we will definitely eat here again when we travel to London.

Had stunning meal. We are from California, so we really appreciated the wonderful help given while choosing what to eat.
Do try the specials, the masala dosa and a special recipe of a tandoor chicken were both awesome.
Do also try lots of the streetfood, all the puris were amazing especially 'dahi puri'. Couldn't get enough of them. Samosa with chicken was by far the best we have ever tasted.
A great meal, superb service. Our highest recommendation.
Thanks a lot.

My boyfriend and I decided to try Masala Zone last night as we were refered by a friend who stays in the area.
I found the service quite friendly and attentive, but were a little bit disappointed with the food as expected larger portions of meat in curry dishes. Only two chutneys served with our poppadums - we are used to at least four at other restaurants we go to. Prices seems quite reasonable.
All in all not a bad evening but not something I will remember forever.
