I went there a while ago with a tastelondon card. Even 2-4-1 on the tapas it wasn't worth it, the service is appalling, they repeatedly forgot things we had asked for/ordered and sat us at a table next to the toilet, despite booking a few days in advance. When the bill came to £30.13 including an incredibly undeserved service charge automatically put on the bill, I left £30 and was told "You have only left £30, the bill is for £30.13" I was frustrated with myself for days for meekly giving him another 13p rather than telling him what I really thought.

I went there last week for lunch with a work colleague. Before we went we called in and booked a table stating that we have a 'Taste London' card. The booking was confirmed by the restaurant by email.

We shared a set menu for £44 (£22 pp) thinking that we would have 50% discount. To our surprise the bill was for the full amount and we were advised that the card is not valid on other offers or set menus!

We tried to argue that what they call a ' set menu' was in fact a full price offer and the exclusion should not classify (we could have had cheaper individual main courses had we known their trick). We were called names and sneeringly advised that we should have known what 'TL' covers before booking.

At the end we did not pay the tip, which is included in the total, and the head waiter waited at the door for us to leave and slammed it behind us.

Food was average and what we ate was not worth the price.

The worst culinary experience we ever had!

For a restuarant in the City this place lacks everything, ambience, good food and good customer service. The only nice thing about this restaurant was the lovely older spanish waiter.

Reheated food that was cold in the middle, manager offered no apology and was just plain rude, told us that it didn't actually need to be hot right the way through!!! Come on, maybe not tortilla but the chicken??? Shocking.

Would not eat here again if I were starving.

The restaurant is at basement level (so no windows) and the decor looks cheap and tacky (a tv was playing sitcoms in a corner).

We had a Tastelondon card which offered 2-for-1 on all tapas, but even so the bill was far more than what I would have payed for such greasy, tasteless food.

I'm from Portugal and have been to Spain many times to have tapas and there is no comparison. Sure, some of the traditional dishes are heavier and oily but at least they pack flavor and you can balance with lighter dishes - at this restaurant you don't have much choice - we had 6 tapas and they were ALL greasy.

Laxeiro, on Columbia Rd, is a much better place for tapas and value for money.
