I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was the best Spanish food I've had in awhile. We got a bunch of tapas and a couple bottles of wine which all came in timely matter. I definitly recommend this restaurant. I think we are going to try to make it to one of their wine tasting dinners theyre having in January

Went to this restaurant for the first time on a friday night, taking a Peruvian friend who had never sampled Spanish food before and was eager to find out what it was about.
The restaurant is in a basement and not so easy to find. Nearest tube station is Monument.
It was not very busy, which surprised us , being a firday 8pm.
The service was friendly and attentive and they poured us a free beer at the bar while we waited for the table to be laid.
The food was surprisingly quick, arriving within 10 minutes and all together. We ordered 5 tapas including meatballs, calameres, fried bait, chorizo in wine, and croquetas de jamon.
The food was not bad, but there was too little of it i.e. only 4 meatballs, 5 calamari rings etc and therefore expensive for the little food that was given.
We ordered a bottle of white wine...well...we chose a bottle of the cheapest house white because 1) we are not wine conniseurs and 2) house wine costs more than double in London than in most other European cities.
The manager was really pushing a sale for more expensive wine and told us that he would not allow us to choose that bottle because the wine was no good (if so then why have they got it on their wine list?!) so we were persuaded to spend an extra fiver on a bottle. I can't say that I'm too happy to be told what I must choose in a restaurant and I have never experienced this kind of shilling before by the manager of a restaurant.
Afterwards we had arroz con leche for dessert which really was very good, as good, in fact, as the homemade arroz con leche that my mum makes.
I noticed that the music they were playing was not Spanish-it was latin american salsa and the like...so not very authentic.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for value-for-money or authenticity. We did, however, receive friendly service, and the food was of decent quality, but there MUST be better tapas bars around, surely.

I don't know, if it is a common practice in this restaurant but I don't understand the addition to the bill of the "Action against the Hunger charity " without warning.
Also, the food and service were not of my pleasure.
The food, was cold, too greasy, served without much care and detail.
The service was not very professional, not very attentive, and more determined in making money than of giving a good service.
I worried about many errors in my bill, up to three times it was rectified. They included in my bill plates for value about 20 pounds that we had not ordered.
The list of wines, good, very varied and to the pleasure of almost all the palates. Probably the only thing good of the restaurant the Riojas and Riveras del Duero.
It is a good restaurant to go to enjoy good wines and cavas, but not very advisable for a good meal.

I too had a disappointing time in this restaurant. We were first met by unfriendly staff where there was an obvious communication problem and an "I don't really care what you ordered" attitude who turned out to be as competent as a chocolate teapot. The managers attitude & competence only reinforced that of his staff and he did not really understand why we were upset that our food; firstly came late & secondly some of it did not arrive. As for the quality of the food, it started OK-ish and sadly got worse. There was no apology offered, in fact were were meant to feel that we had caused the issue by ordering to much food..."sorry, my fault, I thought I was in a restaurant...!"
As you'd expect, I shouldn't waste your time nor money at this restaurant, if this place is an example of its chain then I shouldn't bother with them either. Rubbish

Alarm bells rang when the waitress took our ten item order without writing anything down. Sure enough she had severely overestimated her ability and we only got half our order. By the time we realised no more food was coming to us (it had been arriving in dribs and drabs) it was time for us to leave as we had plans for the rest of the evening. A complaint to the manager merely generated a shrug of the shoulders. No apology was offered. Had the food been outstanding I would have been more than willing to overlook the incompetence of the staff. As it stands, a combination of mediocre food and below par service means I will not be recommending this place to anyone I remotely like.

I must admit that after reading the reviews on this page i was a little skeptical about this restaurant, but man did it blow me away...the food is simply marvelous, the menus are literally huge , the service is friendly and the wine list is astonishing...can't wait to go back

I love tapas and was very disappointed by this restaurant. The house specialty meatballs were lukewarm and flavourless, the vegetables were an overcooked mush and the prawns were disappointingly small. The ambience would have been improved by simply turning the lights down! The only saving grace was the fantastic wine list - an extensive list of Spanish wines at reasonable prices and the house Rioja is to be recommended.

Being spanish I am a bit sceptical about going to spanish resturants, I find them overpriced and not very "spanish". I went to Barcelona Tapas Bar with my boyfriend for a quick bite. The manager was nice and the service too, but it's definetely overpriced. We ordered just 5 tapas to share and they forgot one! which I remember after we left. We got a free drink as my boyfriend works nearby and had been there with some colleagues. The place has a very authentic feel and looks like you're in a bar in Spain, quite cosy.
