Had a pre theatre meal using 'Telegraph Meal for £5' vouchers. The food was good and well presented, the service friendly and attentive, the venue comfortable and welcoming. Difficult to believe that such value could be had in a central London location. Try it while you still have the chance!

Two of us have just eaten here for the first time. The venue, staff and food are excellent. Very good value for money. Excellent steak, good wine list. I would recommend this restaurant very highly in the under fifty pounds a head bracket

I had lunch here with a friend on Saturday on one of those 50% of the food price deals. The restaurant has quite a lot of character and I liked the style, décor and layout. We were the only people there until 2pm when it filled up. This wasn’t a problem for us as we quite enjoyed it being so quite and the staff were not intrusive. The toilets were great with flannels to wipe your hands but there was no full length mirror. My friend had a beautiful scallop and prawn salad (although not in a salad style) whilst I had mushrooms and artichoke. Very nicely presented and we thoroughly enjoyed both starters. For the mains I had the rib eye steak and my friend had the sea bass. The steak was average but the chips to go with it were excellent and my friend enjoyed the sea bass. For 50% off we were not disappointed and I would return if they have this deal again. Drinks are a bit more than normal with £5.50 for a large bottle of water and £8.50 for a margarita. The staff were very nice and friendly and before we knew it, 3 hours had passed.

We ate here as part of a largish party (about 12). Service was very good for a large group (feel service often suffers), but the restaurant could not accommodate us all on one table.
The food was of good quality and nicely presented. I felt that the restaurant was reasonably priced for the level of service and the food provided.

I too ate at Carnaby recently using vouchers from The Times. The service was extremely attentive and helpful and they coped well with food service taking into account that one of our party could not join us from the outset. We were told about some cellar bin ends at realistically discounted prices and were happy to take advantage of these. The bottle of champagne we ordered was certainly expensive however! At our request iced water was served all evening, at no cost. For a small, set menu the food was excellent, plentiful, attractively plated, hot and arrived without any undue wait. I will certainly revisit this excellent restaurant.

We went for a pre theatre dinner last night (4 of us) and had the set menu which was excellent. The stroganoff was really tasty which 3 of us enjoyed. My husband said his salmon was also very good. Stephanie and Marco were very attentive, we didnt feel rushed and we had a leisurely walk to the Palladium which is just round the corner. If you are looking for a pre or post theatre set meal for £15.95 for 2 courses we can really recommend this restaurant.

I went there a few weeks ago as part of the Times " £5 meal" promotion. The waitresses were lovely, the atmosphere elegant and the decor superb. The only bad point was the food, which was terribly expensive and totally tasteless. We ended up paying almost £90 because we felt "forced" to order a third dish each, and the cheapest wine was very expensive. Also, the mineral water at £5.50 for less than a litre is a complete joke!
The toilets are out of this world, I think that the customers are still paying for what they cost! I will not be going back.

I recently went to the Carnaby for lunch with some friends. First of all, the service was incredibly slow. We ordered the Gravadlax, which when it finally came to the table, was a measley portion which would only be suitable for a starter; this was the main course. For the amount of food, and the quality of it, this restaurant is not good value for money. We dined there under a special offer, and seems that they halved the portions along with the price! It lacked atmosphere, and we will not be going back.

We took advantage of the offer in the times and tried this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The menu was very tempting and the food was delicious, but the service was superb, very friendly and polite, and the waitress held the wine bottle correctly.
We were very lucky to dine here and i throughly recommend this restaurant, and if you have the tokens from the Times - LUCKY YOU !!

Myself and a friend came here last night on the Times eat out for £10 offer. There was only one other couple in the restaurant for the duration of our meal, which caused a lack of atmosphere and the service was a little too speedy.
We both had two courses, the starters were excellent and I could not fault mine. We both had the "insalata"; the slow roasted tomatoes with garlic goats cheese was a melt-in-your-mouth combination.
For main I had salmon, which was slightly bland, on a bed of roquette mash and my friend had the chicken breast which came with a rich and delicious jus.
Although we were on the Times offer, we were pushed quite heavily for wine, coffee and dessert and were made to feel a little stingy, despite being there on a cheap deal.
The charge of £5.50 for a bottle of fizzy water went someway to relieve our guilt for not being the biggest of spenders!
Overall I would only go back to this restaurant if it was on a special offer. Although the food is very good, when you consider the ambience and service, the overall feeling is that you can get more for your money elsewhere.
