Deliverance

a-oh....I've just ordered a burger and side salad... its around 9.40 pm on a wed night - and THEN I decided to read a review...yes wrong way round - but forgive me. [what the hell have I let myself in for?]

I'm actually going to call them now [09.45pm] to be on the safe side. I'll write the rest of this review when I get off the phone, give me a sec.....

....okay, so I called and spoke to a fairly polite man. I told him that I've ordered online but due to the reviews I've read, I just wanted to confirm the delivery time of my order. He confirmed that it would be 10.22, correct answer sherlock; as this is what the online order confirmation said. You guys hold on tight and I better ignore my grumbling stomach for the next half an hour or so.

I'll write the rest of the review upon delivery (hopefully) and post eating... ...door bell rang at 10.07pm ! whoorah! okay down to food business... burger with organic cheese and pancetta - Well wrapped in its own box. Thought it was stone cold but actually the bun was still holding together fine with absolutely no soggyness. Meat was satisfactory, reasonable amount of pancetta and sauces. BUT there might has well been no chedder in it all - maybe it was so organic that it ran away to a freedom farm?

Side salad of rocket with parmesan - box was full of fresh and bouncy rocket, really good BUT there was only a small bit of parmesan!

On the whole it was pretty good - THIS TIME.

My history: I've given these guys a few chances over the last 4 years and to be fair they did start off fantastically but then I too have had about 1or 2 pretty bad exeriences in the last couple of years (mainly customer service and delivery time - but I'm all for giving another chance - and this time they've come up half trumps.

Make sure you practice what you preach "deliverance".

I have already written a review commending this takeaway but would like to retract all I said!

This restuarant has gone severely downhill and I cannot stress enough how much customers should avoid them, terrible service, very expensive, bad menu, late delivery and offensively appalling food!

I was just about to order food from this place, when I remembered that I had used them before. On that occasion, after waiting for my food for 2 hours, I called them, only to be told that they couldn't deliver to my address, because it was too late! The order was placed at 7pm. No apology.

When I realised this was the same place, I did a search and found this site. Thank you guys for the reviews. I WON'T be using them anytime soon. Local pizza for me!!

Last night I ordered a takeaway from their Chinese section. Placed the call shortly before 10 and told it would be 45 minutes.. Come 11pm and still hadn't arrived so called up to enquire only to find that the switchboard had shut and couldn't get through to anyone. Finally our food arrived at 11.40!!

Not sure why we bothered to wait up. Every part of the meal was a disappointment. Crispy aromatic duck - the cucumbers and spring onions were soggy and warm from being near the hot food, something had leaked all over the pancakes and the duck was certainly not crispy but soggy and the skin damp.

The Bak Choi was edible, but that small portion for £5 was totally ridiculous.

The chicken with ginger was again a tiny portion, but this was welcome because the meat appeared to be very processed, and a couple of mouthfuls had those nasty sinewy/bony bits you can occasionally get.

Egg fried rice - when ordering they asked for how many so we said two. I dread to think how small a portion for 1 would be. And you don't want to know how much this cost.

All in all, I was totally seduced by a really presentable and well marketed menu, but then thoroughly let down by every other aspect.

Ordered last night. It arrived on time and the burger was edible. My partner's sheperds pie was unbelievably awful. Cheap, poor quality food. Absolutely digusting. we would not have eaten it if it was a couple of quid from the supermarket, but charging £8 is a complete joke.

They advertise resteraunt quality food. If I was served this food in a resteraunt I would walk out. If they served this to my neices at a school canteen I would walk out.

The website is brilliantly designed to fool people into thinking this is a good company. Don't order, I promise you, you will have to go and get something else.

Compared to any takeaway or delivery service I have EVER used, this is the worst. I am not being overly dramatic.

If you have nothing in the fridge. Eat some toast, or something. If you order from Deliverance you will end up feeling like you have genuinly been ripped off.

It gets 0/10 for atmosphere. The atmosphere in my house was appalling when we realised how badly we had been conned.

Persuaded by a friend to give Deliverance a try again (I used to use it a lot but became disappointed with time for delivery and some of the food) I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. There were some new additions to the menu that I was really pleased with - I love Mexican food and Deliverance did a good job at it (although make sure you order the salsa and guacamole to go with the mains). Curries and salads were also really tasty. All arrived warm and with friendly service. I'll definitely go back to being a regular user.

Delicious mouth watering collection of delights! I've ordered from here on three occasions, each has been as scrumptious as the last. My only criticism is the web site can be slightly off putting as the password the originally give you isn't memorable and on forgetting it I requested a new one which took them TWO WEEKS to send me, by that point I wasn't looking to order! However I cannot fault their service, even stretching to ordering me a bottle of wine and a packet of cigarettes at quarter to one in the morning after a night out!

Although some prices do appear slightly steep, for a restaurant in London they are very reasonable. Overall though a sumptuous treat for all and a fantastic solution to differing tastes!

I had Deliverance last night and was very pleasantly surprised by both the food - good sized portions and extremely tasty - and by the efficiency of the service. It was actually a big improvement on when I ordered it a few months back and they have introduced a load of new dishes to their menu. Unfortunately we couldn't sample all of them, but I can highly recommend their new cheese and bacon burger!

The food really was excellent the first couple of times, (a fair while ago now), last time I used them the food was one hour late (two hours in total) and cold. Calls to enquire where it was were met with unfulfilled promises to call me back. No one bothered to respond to my complaints.

My boss ordered for us all (14) on Tuesday evening, the menu looked impressive with a great choice, so our expectations were already high.

The food arrived on time and all I can say is it was terrific, I had Chilli Con Carne & Rice and it was great!

I have read the reviews below and can't comprehend how we appear to be eating from the same company. I would recommend them to anyone wanting good food delivered over the local Chinese or Indian.
