Nice and friendly place. Food is good and the atmosphere great. Avoit the week ends when it gets very busy.
I usually celebrate my birthdays there and it is always fun. It can be expensive depending on the alcohool consumption.

I am passionate about Brazil and Brazilian food, and was a fan of this restaurant. After few months, I have lunched there yesterday and.....
Meat: very disappointing – the quality of their meat is now very low...it has been quite shocking to find out that the once juicy and delicious picanha has now become one of the worst food experiences that I have had in London...
Buffet: beware!! Feijoada is not properly done anymore, and the farofa has a strange taste...I would not try it again.
Service: used to be friendly and funny, it is now irritating, waiters are not paying attention to customers, it looks like the management is not training them adequately.....
Atmosphere: was exciting and perfect for a long lunch/dinner with friends, yesterday it was soulless.
Overall, a bad experience as I left the restaurant slightly disgusted....my last time at this venue.

The food is great, both in terms of selection and quality. But items listed in their menus are not always available - there was only one seafood dish. The buffet section is not labelled, so for items which are dubious you have to guess or ask a staff member. They add on 10% service, and you don't get to see the amount on the cerdit card machine - the staff do that bit for you, which is devious and perhaps one thing that lets this restaurant down.
I'd go back again.

I have been dinning at Rodicio several times.as my girlfriend is brasilian. Most of the time we were groups of 10 and more, celebrating special occassions. The food is nice but they serve the meat a little bit undercooked as I guess they get so busy that they don't even bother the cooked properly and a brazilian restaurant is all about the meat. The staff is quite friendly but I am afraid that the manager is a disgrace to the business. As I pointed out early we go quite often (like one every two month) as we like the ambience and the buffet is quite good but this manager never looked after us and what is worst last time we been there (december 2007) he came to the table inmeadiately after we paid saying that they need the table.
It felt like he wanted us to clean the table for the next customers. Awful expirience!!
Never coming back!!

My favourite place to eat in London. I have been there late at night and the friendly waiters and gone out of their way to squeeze us in. I have been there twice on my birthday first with a group of 18 then this year with 26 including some vegetarians! The salad (far more than just salad) bar is fantastic and always well stocked, the dinks are as you would expect from a Brazillian establishment, if a little overpriced. However the real thing to be talking about is the meat. great quality, very well cooked and presented in true brazillian style. I have been to afine rodizio in Rio and this is a true stand-up for the London side.

My brother recommended the restaurant (Upper Street) after dinning there with his mates a few weeks back. I read most of the reviews I could find before booking a table for 9 people last Saturday (15th Dec) - I was a little bit apprehensive. Anyway we had a mixed bunch of adults and children and we all had a nice time. Half of our group was at least 1 hour - 2 hours late (African Time!!!!) so we stayed there for about 4 hours in total. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was varied (buffet area) but I did not sample enough to pass a balanced judgement. The meats were very good/good and they kept it coming even though some of us were very late in arriving, they fed us continuously for 4 hours. The drinks like previously mentioned by other reviewers were overpriced for a glass packed with ice and a dash of pop, also maybe the £20 pound charge should include seafood (wings, sausages and drummers don’t cost that much surely???). Anyway I enjoyed myself and so did the others, the ham and lamb shank were tasty, so was the garlic beef. The children loved their dessert but I guess kids are easily pleased with a couple of scopes of ice cream and wafer stuck in.... I will go back there again.
I need to say though - maybe people should mark clearly which one they went to and what time. We arrived between 2-4pm so it was not that busy so we didn’t have to wait for more meat or get extra drinks in. The place was not that busy as it was in between lunch and dinnertime.

Went there last Sunday for lunch with 8 friends. Staff was very friendly at the time of booking and had no problem with my special request (i asked if i could take a cake, as two of us were celebrating birthday) girl who took booking said it was no problem...i could take it and give to them to be kept in the kitchen and brought to the table after we had finished eating. My partner and i were the first to arrive, i said to the hostess i wouldn't mind waiting for my friends at the bar...but she said we could go to the table and wait there. So we went...after 10 min....half of the table had arrived...and 20 min later....we were all there...and guess what?? We still had to wave to the waiters to try to get our drinks orders taken!!! Ended up been taken by the manager!!! Place was not busy....lot of staff chatting on the corner...having a laugh...it seemed like they all had a hangover and did not want to be working. The "passadores" (waiters serving the meat) seemed to be forgetting out table on purpose even so we were right next to the Grill!!! One of them was specially rude…fingering one of us on the shoulder instead of asking if we would like some of the cut he was serving, or he would not go aroung the whole table serving…then when walking off…one would call him asking for some..he would say: “Calm down…I’m coming!!!”as if we were starving people begging for some food. This for me is unacceptable. I’ve just came back from a holiday in Brazil…experienced the “Real Rodizio” and the fantastic service in Brazilians restaurants...not mentioning the quality of the meat there…and a third of the price Rico’s charge in London. To make things worse…the waiter started collecting all our plates 1hr after we had started our meal not that interested if we had actually finished! If you know the type of restaurant a “rodizio” is, you know you have not finished your meal in that time…especially when they keep missing your table! For the ones on our party who had never had another experience in a “rodizio” the bad service and low quality of the meats went unnoticed. If you are looking for a place only to stuff yourself and make the £20.50 set price worth it…you will be fine. If you are a Brazilian…or have been to Brazil….run away!

I went to this restaurant earlier this year with a group of around 20 friends. It was my first time but a few of the group had been there before. What an experience! Wow. Brilliant atmosphere, the most amazing salad bar I've ever seen and simply delicious meats. A belly fest. We're going again in December for our annual chrimbo get together.
The first caipiriniha didn't seem to do much, the second one made me smile and the third one, well let's just say "Long Brasil Vivo!" It really is an unusual experience and the music is so lively that I wanted to dance the night away but of course with that amount of meat in my tum, it wouldn't have been advisable.
And the toilets are CLEAN! (Don't forget to wash your hands)
As for people complaining about rudeness of the staff, we we're treated very well. Just remember this - the food is of such excellent quality that the restaurant is extremely popular and I feel that the staff do a perfectly good job.
And yes it IS pricey but you get so much more than good food and I think it's worth every penny.
You simply must try this place at least once - a nice change from Nando's!

Read the reviews on this place and decided to go with 7 of my friends. Have to say I was not disappointed! We all went for the Meat and Salad buffet, first of all we hit the salad buffet which has an wonderful array of Brazilian delicacies, some of which can be quite filling so beware, because as soon as we got to our table the waiters come over in full force cutting many different meats onto our plate. I havent had such a delicious meal in a while. You can honestly eat till you cant take no more. We rounded off a great night with a round of Caipirinihas.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, I guarantee you wont be disappointed!!!

We booked early Friday evening. Welcomed and found evryone friendly.
I'd read the reviews here and put it this way the salad help yourself bar area is absolutely amazing! Simply if you used a teaspoon you'd fill the large plate with so much to select. We intended to book later but in the end our earlier booking was probably a good idea as one notices this place to be truly sucessful and probably ultra busy as the evening wears on.
We'd gone for the set meal with fish - bad idea because the food from the salad bar and the carvers (who never stop) was simply too much. In my case I loved all the meats and just wanted more but there was just no more room!
An exceptional experience to say the least. The waiting staff and carvers were all so friendly. The bill was around £90 including the 10% gratuity included in it. For this we'd had two set meals, a desert, bottle of Chilean Savagnon and two espressos. Initially one might think expensive but for the quality of food and service well worth it.
Nothing else to say except a a re-visit is guaranteed. This area of Angel (Islington) itself is quite an experience with numerous bars and restaurants that bustles with people.
