Rockwell Restaurant
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
A friend of mine had heard there was a new Head Chef at the Rockwell Restaurant and suggested we should treat ourselves and go out for dinner. We started with a cocktail in the very trendy bar before going downstairs for dinner. The restaurant is very modern and cosy at the same time, just a shame that not many people know about this place... The menu is easy on the eye, just enough choice to please everyone. The food is simple, beautifully presented and very tasty!!! We all had three courses and a bottle of wine, and the bill I have to say was very reasonable for what we had. Unfortunately I could only eat a 3 course meal, guess I will have to return to try the rest of the menu.... After this very enjoyable dinner we decided to head to the roof garden terrace for a last drink. Having a glass of champagne while enjoying the amazing view was definitely the icing on the cake! I expected to spend a lot more than we did considering we were in the heart of London among very famous landmarks! I highly recommended this restaurant, we had a great evening!

We ate at the Rockwell on sat 30th sept. Bit disappointed with the limited menu, what we saw online had more choice. However the steak we had was cooked to perfection and delicious. Expensive drinks but afterall we were in a posh london restaurant so to be expected, easier to justify than stupid prices you pay in bars in small towns. We went upstairs to the bar after which was quite busy but not bad considering it was a sat night, there was also a dj on the bar. Decor and ambiance makes this place. Definitely recommend.

We went there on the 6th May 2006 after a a West End Matinée. Unfortuantely, although we had a table booked they never informed us that they had changed their menu. What we were looking at was the choice of 5 main courses, one on them being Chilli priced at £15!! Was way too overpriced, very disappointed!!! Swiftly walked out 20 minutes later.

We came here for the 6 course summer tasting menu on the 50% off London Eating offer. The food was a bit pretentious and to my mind a tiny bit clichéd. Dishes which take a whole paragraph of description are just a bit naff. Having said that the food tasted really good and I'd like to have several of the dishes again. The decor is pretty funky but I'm tall and didn't find the really low armchair style seats very comfortable after a while, also we were sat at the bottom of the stair case which leads up to the bar, it was a bit tricky trying to talk over the DJ and all the noise coming down from there.
What really made our night was the fabulous waiter from Dundee. He was absolutely fantastic, great fun, full of information and advice about the food and even smuggled us extra dessert when we said how much we'd liked it. He really made our experience of the restaurant a great success.
I'd give it a go as the food was good and they have really made an effort with the look of the place. If you're in to posing amongst the beautiful people then it's perfect.
