I love this place!! Have been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Not fine dining at all just a casual, cheap place with very quick service! The service is nothing special but never any complaints. I think they have 2 or 3 wines on the menu but they are very nice, even the house wines are fine.
Nice selection of starters (Mozarella in Carozza is always nice £2 i think) and main meals are always a very decent size!
So much better then the The Stockpot, which it is often compared to.

Not many places in central London where you can get a meal AND a bottle of wine for under £15!! Best liver I've had in ages - melt in the mouth - highly recommended.

"Modern European" makes this sound fancier than it is. My colleagues and I are reminded more of school dinners, but in a good way.
Their lunchtime menu is decent value, from which I haven't ever really departed. WEK is fine for lunch, especially if you're local, but I wouldn't take anyone here to impress them.

I have been going to the West End Kitchen for many years, and have never been disappointed. It is not somewhere you would go for a nice evening out, but for simple refuelling it is hard to beat. There is nowhere else that I know of in the centre of London where you can get proper food (as distinct from fast food) at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is not bad either; a good friendly crowd of students, backpackers and people from all walks of life tucking in to food that is a bit like mother used to make!
Highly recommended

Can't argue with this place - no frills, basic seating but the food is the sort of home-made thing that you can enjoy.
You'll be hard pushed to find better value for money around Picadilly Circus / Leicester Square - most dishes like spaghetti bolognase are under £4 and the portions are very generous.
Good food, good prices and a good place to go for a cheap yet filling lunch.
