The most authentic Japanese restaurant in London. I used to go there for lunch, now can only get there for dinners. The food is awesome, both a la carte and from the set menu (the £35 set is filling and well worth the money).

Book in advance and ask to sit in a "horikoutatsu" upstairs - the tables that are sunk into the floor. Be prepared to take your shoes off and to eat a great meal.

I grab lunch here sometimes. It's only open weekdays I think. The food is superb, good service, the set lunches have great portions and the atmosphere fine. The best Japanese restaurant I've found in London, it wipes the floor with places that cost five times as much.

I read the reviews and had to try it.

The staff were friendly, all of the sushi was very tasty and the Toro melted in your mouth.

To sum up, my new favourite Sushi restaurant.

The best and authentic sashimi and sushi in town. Was recommended by my Japanese colleagues. The best urchins I had so far in London. Probably better than some sushi restaurants in Tokyo.

Holborn at night (11pm) was dead quiet and a slightly creepy, not many taxis around (buses are running) but will recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the authentic, non miso/tamari-soysauce drenched Japanese food I see a lot around in the Piccadilly area or take-out fast food "Sushi" shops. Or, the awful sushi-like food that goes around in belt conveyers.

Cream croquette and Fried Tofu is also good.

Will recommend it to anyone.

Stumbled into this little jem of a restaurant not knowing what to expect, but left feeling pleasantly suprised. I am not an expert in Japanese food but the staff were helpful in their recommendations. The tempura was quite exceptional, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Clearly a favourite with the local Japanese businessmen as the place was full of them! Felt very authentic and reasonably priced too.

I regulary eat here - the food is exceptionally good - exactly like eating Sushi in Tokyo (Shinjuku to be exact). The staff are traditional as is the decor - but then that's why I go there. I agree, it was the best kept secret in London's Japanese community - but cat's out of the bag now.

Prices at lunch time are very good - but book or you will not get a table...
