Had a wonderful meal there and the jazz on the Friday was fantastic!! Definitely the place to go to have a good night without the hassle of the west end! Friendly, warm and a good night out!

We went there twice. Had plans to go there for the third time to meet another couple that were going there after the theatre, but didn't make it. Our loss. (and we were only in London for a week)
We thoroughy enjoyed it!!!!! Dinner and all.
We'd go back!

We should have known when glancing through the frankly, odd menu whilst sitting in the draughty entrance table that this was not going to be good.
Such oddities as Beouf Bourguignon sat next to Italian and Thai dishes on the starters and main course menu. It was retro but without realising it.
However, we were tired & hungry, it was close by and it was raining.
We asked to move upstairs in the hope that it would be a bit warmer, sadly it wasn't.
After a few glasses of wine the alcohol jackets were on and we no longer felt the draught. Our starter of crudities to share arrived which consisted of a small bowl of humus (not home made) the same size of taramasalata (not home made) 6 poxy iceberg lettuce leaves and some badly peeled and awkwardly sliced carrot of varying consistency and a pitta bread cut into tiny pieces. At £10.95 I was annoyed.
My partner ordered the Barbeque chicken with cheese and bacon for main course and I went for the Beouf Bourguignon. The cheese was a slab of red leicester which sat sweating and unmelted under the rasher of bacon. The chicken was overcooked but tasted ok. This was the highlight.
My classic French dish was classically poor and lacked meat. We shared an accompaniment of potato which I'm sure were of the "Aunt Bessie" variety and had definitely been deep fried.
We skipped desert and coffee and plumped for the bill. At £63+ service it felt like robbery.
Next time I'll get wet and go somewhere decent, somewhere where they can at least cook.
