We went to Silk on Friday evening and had a fantasic time. From the decor, to the service and the food - it was all top class!
We had an offer from Groupon which always makes me wary of set menus etc, but we had the full menu to chose from. The fusion food was all fantastic! The scallops and duck breast main a winner.
A lovely little restaurant that should be talked about more!

We went to Silk on Friday. We arrived at our booked time of 7.30 only to find our table was not ready and we were asked to wait outside. Five minutes later we are ushered in and sat down, but no sooner had we been given the menus the manager was whispering in my ear that we had to be off the table by 9.15. We were also made to select all 3 courses immediately and the moment our first course was finished the plates were remove and the main course immediately placed on the table. The same thing happened with our desert. They were so desparate to get the table back we were offered a free bottle of wine and coffees if we finished in the bar. The food itself was fantastic, but the whole evening was ruined by the indecent haste to get us out of the restaurant.

We went to this restaurant for dinner last night with a groupon voucher. With all vouchers we are usually a little skeptical as to whether the food will be the same as if you are paying full price however this food was definitely the same as all other diners (and the menu outside). The food was absolutely amazing, we loved the starters, I had the indian prawns, I got 6 good sized ones. My partner had the platter so go to try the banana leaf wrapped chicken, the scallops and the chickpea cake. The scallop, although was only one, was a great size and was cooked superbly and tasted amazing. For mains we ordered the duck and the fillet of beef and both were just melt in your mouth. We did have to order sides as they came with little else except for the meat, however we shared one at £3.50 which was reasonable. The desserts we had the banana spring rolls as well as the platter. The banana could have done with a little more spice but apart from that both desserts were fantastic. The service was fantastic, the waiters very attentive. We would definitely visit this restaurant again. Even though we had a voucher, the prices were absolutely reasonable and we would have no hesitation paying full price.
